Mouikis Hotel Kefalonia

"Wonderful modern, clean and fresh hotel in beautiful Argostoli. Fantastic location close to harbour and town for all the wonderful restaurants, cafes and shops. Close to churches and lovely bell tower and also amazing and very moving museum about the devastating earthquake and how Argostoli has been rebuilt. Staff at hotel were excellent. We arrived early and they arranged an early check-in for us. Wonderful roof terrace with spectacular views of Argostoli. All this at a very reasonable price. Would definitely return."

Apostolata Island Resort & Spa

"The site is picture perfect. It’s built into a cliff above the sea, and the rooms face the morning sun, rising above the water. The property is terraced: every room has a view. This is not a hotel I would recommend to anyone with mobility issues. I asked for a room which was more accessible, due to health issues. Our room was on the “ground floor”/top of our terraced building. 4 flights of stairs down to the pool- the sea is farther down a long incline. 3 flights of stairs up for meals. The staff has golf carts for luggage, and I don’t know if they would have picked us up and driven us to the next terrace up, but we never saw them idle, so we did not ask. The resort seems to attract mostly British tourists, and breakfast is always a British breakfast. The Greek food was great, and there’s a station with fries and grilled meat for picky eaters every day. The staff that ran pool activities did such a great job of getting people of all ages to participate in games and activities. Getting whole families to do the same thing takes a special skill!"

White Rocks Hotel Kefalonia

"All very very good but... No towels when we arrived, we were looking forward to use the facilities but swimming pool area was packed , some people had 2 or 3 towels per head and we waited and waited but nothing. they were meant to be complimentary. disappointing. Also no room service after some point. we run out of water ( only 2 small 500ml bottles in the room) on a very hot day it was simply not enough. We asked room service for some more, they said no. And instead I had to go all the way back to the restaurant, quite far from our room. Apart from this, a truly incredible experience. Hence the 5 stars regardless."

Kefalonia Grand Hotel

"I checked in very late and was very well taken care of when I arrived by the on-duty manager. The room was lovely and the hotel breakfast is delicious! The lobby is also a lovely space to sit in and read with a coffee. On tip--if you are hoping to arrange airport pickup you must call the hotel in advance. Emailing is not sufficient."

"Apartment was very clean & cleaned daily. Had a kitchenette with 2 burners. Also had cookware, silverware, plates/bowls, & a hot water pitcher for teas/coffee. Apt furnished dish soap, sponge for washing dishes, paper towels & plenty of toilet paper. Showers were small, but manageable unless you are a very large person. (Husband is 6ft & 290 lbs & had difficulty getting in & out of shower, but succeeded!) Beautiful view from the back portico including table & chairs. They even furnished an ash tray on the portico table. (Husband is a smoker so that was a plus.) Staff was very friendly! Location was very quiet & had the sweetest kitty cats roaming the property. We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our 25th Anniversary trip. The swimming pool was beautiful with plenty of sun beds. They even had a small playground for children."
