Nice place to stay in Paramaribo, a litle bit noisy the rooms near to the street. The service is really good and everyone in the hotel is helpful.

DO NOT GO. The property's overall facilities (swimming pool, gym) are nice, however the resort had no body lotion at all. I have never stayed at a resort property anywhere in the world without a body lotion. The resort gift shop is closed until further notice, and the front desk and administration was entirely unable to help identify a local store where I could buy lotion. If the resort is not providing lotion, what else are they doing to cut corners/costs? Just find a different resort to travel to. I also pre-purchased transport from the airport to the resort upon arrival and gave them my flight information - however, when I arrived, there was no shuttle. I waited at the property's desk at the airport for an hour - and still no shuttle. Ultimately, I had to take a cab on my own.

Our room was very nice. Issue with electricity going out in lobby and other areas on multiple days. Elevator out one day. Breakfast was ok but offered same food everyday, no variety. Tennis courts closed for our entire 7 day stay and we are tennis players! Hotel grounds are lovely. Location was great, near historical sites, lots of restaurant options, casinos, etc.

This is one of the most unsafe place in Suriname. I had my windscreen wiper stolen of my car which was parked in the hotel parking lot which was about 50 yards from a security. I enquire whether I could see the video cottage but the hotel refuse to show me. They claimed that the hotel policy is that they aren’t responsible for any theft of the part of my vehicle.

The property is very well located in the center of the city. The staff are lovely and very helpful. But the property itself is rather dated and in need of renovations

The grounds at the back were surely impressive- huge circular pool, saunas, jacuzzis, tennis courts, gym, aerobic center, spacious restaurants. I didn’t like the condition of the bathroom- a bit moldy as there was no vent or extraction of air. The meal took almost 45 minutes to arrive. On requesting a particular taxi service at the front desk, the receptionist later called to say that both the requested driver and the 24hr taxi service were not available. On contacting the taxi service directly, we were able to get that respective driver. The receptionist had charged to the room an alternate taxi service which we did not use.

The stay was good, unfortunately many men at work because maintenance of the hotel. I suggest that you need to offer a single breakfast for the people that are in business or working condition. The buffet is expensive and most of the time none need to much food for breakfast.

I will go back for sure.
It was my third time at this hotel; really like it. it is an old facility with some weakness in the structure but I find it very welcoming. The best of the hotel is the staff; they go that extra mile to support you. My special recognition to Cristal at the restaurant by the pool; she was amazing.

Better than what I thought.
I was really happy with the hotel; it is an old hotel but well maintained. People are the difference. staff is so friendly and always willing to help and make feel good. I will definitely go back.

Stay at Courtyard by Marriott instead.
How could the hotel not have parking for people staying at the hotel? The bathroom had black mould all around the silicone which was simply disgusting. The surrounding businesses all close at 10pm. Which takes away the location advantage of this hotel. Stay at Courtyard or even Ramada for a better experience. Not up to American tourist standards anymore.

Rude pool man. Deteriorating guest experience.
I have stayed at Torarica many times before. The standards have dropped immensely. Firstly they took away the dedicated hotel guest parking - so now you must fight for a parking spot with the hundreds of people who are just there to use the pool or to dine for the day. Secondly, the man at the pool is a rude chain smoking Javanese man who told me “do not ask for another towel” when I asked for a new towel as the first one got soaked in the rain. Thirdly, the option for an included breakfast was removed - now they charge an outlandish $20 for breakfast (which is not worth it unless you are there on business). And lastly, I stayed at 2 different room types. The one with the terrace near the pool was dirty and there was mound all over the bathroom. The “executive suite” was much better as it was renovated about 5 years ago. Torarica, your standards must improve. I will update start with the rude pool man who is simply disgusting.

Torarica is a beautiful resort. The staff is great and guest are from all over the world. There was a mixture of families and party crowds. The facility is (elevator) is a little dated but not enough to take away from the experience.
