“I stayed in the hotel only so I am not sure about area around the property. All the staff are friendly and hotel facilities are great. Only one thing is my room was too far from the main lobby. “Staying with the sisters who run the property and the other staff became increasingly pleasant with every passing day. Plus, I was more than comfortable in my room, where they don't skimp on pillows for those of us who like to sit up in bed to work. There's no generator on the premises for the load-shedding but that's normal for comparable properties. Just stay atune to the schedule is what I learned in southern Africa.”

Staff would assist with anything uncluding washing up and laundry, so not really "self-catering" if you wish. “We stayed at the Sunbird Lodge for 3 nights, and it was very peaceful and quiet. It had two twin beds, a set of bunk beds, small kitchenette, television, air conditioning, desk and chair, as well as outdoor patio. The pool was clean and extremely warm, but refreshing.
