"Concierge was super helpful! The hotel is beautiful! The rooms themselves are not very practical for families traveling with children. The sliding barn door over the toilet and shower and the exposed sink/vanity area make it difficult to get ready quietly without disturbing those sleeping. But again, a beautiful space. My biggest frustration is that the staff would not allow us to eat food we’d brought with us in the outdoor area because it wasn’t purchased from the restaurant/bar. My teenagers just wanted a sandwich and fruit…….I would like to think they could eat it at one of the many empty tables on the deck area (not in the restaurant). I guess not. That’s unfortunate. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a hotel where they wouldn’t let you bring your own food to the pool area if you wanted to."

Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square

"We had a very good stay at the Sofitel Philadelphia. The location is excellent, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom was large.While the hotel feels a little dated, it’s very well maintained. We also appreciated the hotel’s eco-friendly approach and the daily hotel credit, which was a great perk to use at the bar. The only area that could be improved is housekeeping. One day, our room wasn’t cleaned until after we returned in the evening, and only after we called the front desk a few times. On other days, housekeeping would arrive very early, around 8–9 a.m., and if you weren’t ready then, they often didn’t return later, which was a bit inconvenient. We also had an issue with our bathroom sink overflowing. The team immediately offered to move us to another room, which was a thoughtful gesture. We really appreciated how professionally they handled it. A special mention to Ada at the front desk, who was exceptionally warm and helpful. One thing that really stood out was that the front desk staff remembered guests by name, which is a hallmark of great hospitality and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would happily stay here again."
