Pearl District in Portland

Brand new condo/rental building right in the middle of everything you need for short or long term stays. Local breweries w great food & service, cafe and groceries all steps away. The studio suite was just perfect & a complete home feel. The gym and the secret roof top patios were just awesome. Will definitely stay there again.

Gem in the Pearl (District)

great location, super helpful staff. The hotel is in the heart of the Pearl district, and a 15 minute walk to central business district. In Pearl, there are tons of amazing restaurants and micro breweries. The Oakwood is perfect for a longer stay, as you have a refrig (beer and wine) and stovetop. Staff was very helpful about the neighborhood. Decent gym, great rooftop terrace.

Some hoops to jump, but glad I did it.

There was a bit of surprise paperwork involved in the reservation, that I feel should have been mentioned ahead of time in the listing. Also-wanted to charge for the stay 2 weeks ahead, but once I showed them how it was listed in the ad, they honored the listed charge schedule. They just need to work out these details/informational pieces better in the reservation description. Awesome location, great apartment (loved having a washer dryer in the room), amazing rooftop and nice workout room, etc.. I loved the location and would rent here again.

A little chaos

In the weeks approaching our stay, we got so many emails and phone calls from the rental company. I expected this to be like any other hotel stay - check in, check out - but the amount of communication from the company was unnecessarily complicated. In all that communication, though, they never told us which lockbox our keys would be in, so when we did arrive we had to try them all. They gave us the wrong wireless password, the wireless was slow. The bed was much smaller than I expected - for occupancy of two adults, I assumed we'd get a queen bed by default, but we were pretty cramped (and there was only room for a nightstand on one side - I had to pull up a chair to my side of the bed). And the neighborhood is loud at night. On the one hand, I guess I should have expected it given the location. But if you know that you're renting to business people in a loud neighborhood, maybe double-pane the windows?
