I'm writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with a recent experience I had using your platform, and to request a full refund of \$130 for a reservation that was not honored properly. I had booked a stay at the Hampton Inn in Fishkill, NY through Expedia. However, upon arriving at the hotel, I was informed by the front desk staff that there was no reservation under my name at their location. The staff member was very polite and helpful, and explained that this has been happening frequently to other customers as well who used Expedia, where bookings meant for another hotel (in this case, the Wingate Hotel down the road) were being incorrectly routed or confirmed as if for the Hampton Inn.
This error caused not only confusion but also inconvenience during my travel. I immediately called Expedia customer service to resolve the issue and request a cancellation and refund. Unfortunately, I was placed on hold multiple times, and though I was told someone would contact the hotel directly to help cancel the reservation and issue a refund, this never happened. Instead, I was left in limboโplaced on hold again, with no confirmation or resolution.
Despite trying to resolve this in good faith through your customer service line, I was charged \$130 for a booking that was not valid, not honored, and was the result of incorrect listing or processing on your platform. This is unacceptable and unfair to your customers i would like a refund please, thanks
