I loved my stay at Golden Gate Hotel! The property staff were very friendly and accommodating, and I loved the charm of the building and the neighborhood. Lots of great food, comedy shows, and live music in the area. Will definitely visit again!

Place was perfect. Very cute and Skittles the Inn cat followed us to our room and slept in the chair all night. Breakfast down the street was also great at the hotel de France

The room was adorable, clean, and comfy. The hotel has great history and old pictures are everywhere. It’s like a museum. The elevator was a kick! I felt like I stepped back in time. The staff was friendly and courteous. Petting Skittles was an added bonus. I will definitely be staying there again!

Fantastic older/historic property. This is not a property for people with mobility issues. Narrow corridors, step in old cast iron claw foot tub for shower (that I lovvvved) this is a true historic hotel that is like stepping into the past. I loved everything about it. But if your inconvenienced by older styles of design, then leave this one for those of us that appreciate it

Love the hotel, location, and extremely charming room looking out the main street. As a cat lover, Skittles was a highlight as well as the coffee shop across the street. Definitely staying back at the Golden Gate Hotel in the future.

Loved it except free breakfast ...

Loved staying there. Was quiet. Free breakfast good but exactly the same offerings for 5 days was a little disappointing. Bacon, eggs, bread (hard), cheese slices, 3 cereals, juices, cheap yogurt, coffee and milk.

Very clean and love the vintage aesthetic and the old elevator. The front desk receptionist is also very kind and helpful. The house cat definitely elevated our experience even more. She's a sweetheart. The breakfast provided at the Cornel hotel was also nice. We enjoyed the medieval theme of the breakfast ambiance. Definitely would consider staying again for another staycation. Only thing I wished was that it was advertised better that the bathroom was communal. For the price we paid, I was assuming the toilet and shower would at least be in the room. Overall, we loved the aesthetic and would consider staying here again if the price was a little more affordable.

Be aware!

No AC, although didn’t need it with windows open. No hot water in bathroom sink - not plumbed for hot water. Breakfast was at a nearby hotel. Other than that, great location and comfortable. Historic building!
