San Joaquin Valley, California hotel rooms at the Independent

"Room bed in 219 had a dip on right side. Lots of odd smells, hallways. Elevator. And road construction made for some driving delays. "

"I check in at night, got confused front desk as restaurant. can't see much believe was a motel, lighting is hard is "

"The hot water in the shower both nights was lukewarm at best. When I told the front desk gentleman he said that was the best the hot water got. Also the hotel did not offer any water bottle filling option in the front lobby except during breakfast only. The front desk gentleman said we could use the sinks in our room. Sidewalks needed pressure washing and the showerhead needed to be replaced with better water pressure."

"The staff is courteous, polite, very helpful with every need you may have, they go out of their way to accommodate you. The valet parking is wonderful and they always open your car door and meet you at hotel door to open it as well. As far as the food goes, I’ve mostly ordered my food from the hotel menu and have to say everything has been very good! I traveled with a 13 lb multipoo and a small parrot and the only downside was having to cross 2 streets for the dog to go potty, I’m in my late 60’s so was a little uncomfortable in late night early morning hours as this Hotel is downtown so there are a lot of vocal homeless people out in the area But I would defiantly stay here again just wouldn’t bring my dog."
