Perfectly located when you arrive to Santiago to be right in the mix of the energy and camaraderie of the old historic centre. Singing of Pilgrims awoke is through the open window in the morning. But it was lovely. We will definitely stay here again!

Best not to arrive there after 10 pm particularly if you find it hard to carry luggage up stairs. The street/taxi entrance is unlit. The entrance code didn’t work for me. I was stuck there in total darkness and silence at 11.15 pm.After several tries at code I walked along road and saw light. Another hotel! Reception guy there helped me with code!! (Probably my incompetence with code!) So door was open! Then long flight of stairs before reaching liftarea. Had heavy bag so difficult. Daytime staff and breakfast fine, very good. Just don’t arrive late!!

A good 2 star hotel but not for light sleepers

We don’t usually write mehhh reviews…. But it was a struggle stay. Montes Hotel is located in a great location. Our room was a large suite, clean, with a modern bathroom, comfy bed and large bathtub in a 2-star hotel - the room just located behind the main floor/reception desk and above the shopping stores below. However and overall, really loud (even with ear plugs) from evening to morning and blasting heat (aka we had to open the balcony doors for fresh air which caused more disrupted sleep from the noise). The outside constant noise of singing pilgrims, screaming parents, group tours, bachelor parties, cathedral bells every 15 min round the clock, and the hot-sweltering heat of the room was just too much to justify another stay for our intended 2 nights…. So We left early, sadly. No one at reception for 2 days to discuss. Thankfully the bar waiter below gave us information.

Hotel muito bem localizado no Centro Histórico de Santiago. Fotos no site, entretanto, mostram quarto de luxo sendo que o quarto oferecido era bem comum. Entretanto nada do básico nos faltou, e ficamos bem hospedados.

Schöner Altbau, unser zimmer hatte eine tolle aussicht und war ansprechend modern in das alte gebäude integriert. Die fenster waren schalldicht, so konnten wir trotz der zentralen lage sehr gut schlafen. Das zimmer entsprach sehr gut den Abbildungen.

strange occurrence

This hotel is nice for the price. The people at the front desk were very helpful and even allowed us to check into the room 2 hours early. The only thing that was very odd to me was that once the housekeeper had been through all the rooms, she left the doors open. Imagine coming back to a floor where every room was open and everyone's things visible.

This hotel's location is walking distance to the church & to a lot of restaurants. The balcony opens up to a small square. Rooms are very clean & eco-friendly. Breakfast is included & very filling. The only downside is if your room is on the 1st floor, the crowd noise at night might bother you. Overall we had a great time.

Nice building but the rooms are stupid furnished

They have 2 entrances and the one given was from the back site and you had to push the intercom to get in contact with the reception (6 buttons) no problem however, but not what we normally are use to. The main entrance is actually in Rua do Villar and would have been much easier (and only 1 button to chose between). The man in the reception was nice and kind and all look nice in this old building. We needed heating in the room but neither of the 2 systems worked, so I went to the reception, no one there. Then I called the hotel by my phone and he came. It turned out the central heating was switched off and the air condition did not work. Then the extraction in the bathroom did not work and no place to put your toilet stuff. There was no chair in the room and the desk was so close to the bed that I hit myself several times during the night. There ware only 2 plugs and they were used for the lamps one of them in the middle of the bed. So in order to charge the phone you had to use that. A lot of noise from the street and the cathedral all night. We will not stay here again.
