"This is a wonderfully refurbished motel in a part of Oakland that's a little bit rough around the edges but is safe and close to Piedmont Avenue (which is great). The owners have redone the hotel in cheerful colors and spotless rooms. Drew, the manager, is great as is the entire staff. I will definitely go back if I need a place in Oakland in the future."

"The location was perfect for our stay. Room was clean and very comfortable. Check-in was courteous and our desk person Shamal was very friendly and helpful.
Not a fan of the parking fee. This is not disclosed on the reservation totals. We were told of the parking fee at the desk. What is one to do, you're there, where else would you park. Because of this, we would like to be refunded the parking fee incurred.
Other than that, everything was great.

"We had a spacious corner room with a view. Hotel was charming, with a great bar. Location just off Shattuck is great for walking up to campus or exploring Berkeley. The MARTA station is right across the street, which would make access to SFO and San Francisco by public transportation easy. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast as well as the numerous restaurants and bookshops in walking distance."

"This is a legacy motel with comfortable rooms and a very affordable price. I stayed here once, and I liked it enough to come back. Each room has a heater and a clean bathroom with a very satisfying shower. AC Transit buses stop nearby, and they're easy to use. Front desk staff is friendly and accommodating. Parking on site without extra charge. "
