Quaint and Cozy

This hotel was very charming! Comfortable room with a balcony with forest views, a sitting area, and an outstanding restaurant within. The breakfast spread included with our stay was remarkable, we still desire the jam selection. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, the hotel is situated in a gorgeous area of the Black Forest.

Das Zimmer war neu Renoviert und in einem ansprechendem Zustand. Leider war das Bad noch im Zustand der Anfang 80ziger Jahre. Müsste auch einmal erneuert werden. Das Restaurant und das Essen waren ausgezeichnet. Der Chef kocht Persönlich. Sehr lecker!!

Nice and clean but not as special as anticipated

The hotel is pretty from the outside and is on a hill overlooking castle ruins and the beautiful Black Forest. The rooms are clean and spacious but the decor is quite outdated, like many guesthouses and hotels in Germany. The service is a bit stiff - not the genuine, warm hospitality we were hoping for. Overall, it definitely does not offer the coziness or service or quality to merit the high price we paid, particularly considering it was not peak season (you can stay at 4-star hotels that are much better for the same cost!) In addition, it markets itself as a "wellness" hotel, but the wellness is only open from 3-7pm and not every day, and if you want it at other times, they charge a minimum price per person. Not very welcoming!

Georgeous country setting

Family run hotel ticked all the boxes. Very friendly service, clean amenities, great food and wine, all you could ask for breakfast, wonderful walks nearby. Definitely recommend as jump off point for southern Black Forest area.
