On this trip I have stayed at Novotel (Naama Bay) for 6 days and Sharm Grand Plaza (Nabq Bay) for 4 days. Overall, Novotel is in a great location, 10min walk to main Naama Bay bazaar and night life. The hotel room was on Palm side, and room was clean and spacious. Daily cleaning and minibar topped up with water. The staff are really helpful and very friendly. I would not hesitate to stay here again. On the negative side, the food is not always fresh so keep that in mind when eating cold food. If eating hot food then no problem. After 6 days we did get a tummy bug. The air conditioning is switched off in winter which is an issue for those of us from Europe as it’s not our winter. The hotel did help by providing 2 powerful fans in our room. I thank all the staff especially Dory in guest relations, Yousef and Yahya in the kitchen as well as Sherif who made amazing pizzas for us. I would stay again. When you checkout at 12noon, they cut your all inclusive wrist band and are not allowed to enter restaurants or take any drinks unless you pay extra. Something to be mindful if you have a late evening flight. I understand that this is common practice in Sharm hotels.

My experience with the hotel booked through Expedia fell significantly short of the standards expected from a five-star establishment. From the onset, there was a palpable sense that Expedia guests were treated as a lower priority, receiving what felt like leftover room allocations and being subject to discriminatory treatment compared to other guests. This second-class experience extended to the dining. The quality and selection of the open buffet were not commensurate with a five-star rating. Furthermore, the service at reception was consistently impersonal, with staff who rarely offered a smile or a welcoming demeanor. While I understand the environmental importance of a no-plastic policy, its implementation at this hotel significantly detracted from the guest experience. The policy felt less like an ecological effort and more like a cost-cutting measure, as it failed to provide decent alternatives for all-inclusive guests. For instance, being charged for bottled water, while the only included option was dispensers with an unspecified water source, was unacceptable. Furthermore, the reusable plastic cups offered at the beach were not consistently available to all guests. Compounding these issues was the dismissive and often unprofessional attitude of several male bartenders, who made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. I have documented these concerns with photographs.

It was a bad experience.

The room space was good, but the service was poor. The air conditioner was leaking a lot of water into the room. The services targeted a specific category of guests. The restaurant lacked variety, and the juices weren't good! We booked two rooms for a family, but upon arrival, we were given rooms far apart from each other! It was a bad experience.

Called to confirm the booking at 11:00 am and was advised the room was ready, told them I'll be there for 2:00 pm to ensure I don't have to wait. When checking in I asked for a room where everything works unlike the previous stay at Movenpick, they laughed as said of course everything works, they made us wait half an hour in lobby and forgot to follow up. Finally when the room was ready we went in the room and maintanence advised the room was not ready due to leaking air conditioner and they were fixing it as there was leaky water. We waited another hour and once in the room, the safe didn't work as the a/c leak damaged it, the fridge didn't work well, and there was poop in the toilet. We told the manager he said ok I'll get you a new fridge, but it was already our second day and we just left it as it.

For family trip

We stayed in palm wings side. There was clean and peaceful,but it was far away from the sea and dinner restaurant. However, the beach side had some construct process, crowded and too loudly. I did not reccomend beach side for families. WiFi was a big problem because it did not work even palm wings lobi during the holiday. Also breakfast was not good enough, we ate same things every single days. Dinner was beter than breakfast but it was not sufficient.

I liked the beach ,i did not like the restriction when you enter and when to leave the beach ,i did not like the sales peoples too many of them you can not relax ,i did not like the foid they can not provide a simple thing white normal bread for a 5* you have to asked for things should be there anyway . I would not class this hotel as 5* i have been to a less * who provided better services .never again

Novotel Palms is a Scam. If you don't get a beach wing room, be ready to the fact that you will be placed in the Palms wing, which is really a different hotel, with a different reception across the street, thus much farther from the beach. Don't tell your taxi you're going to Novotel Sharm El-Sheikh, but that you're going to Novotel Palms ... even though it is portrayed here as if it was just a different section. I was very annoyed and am convinced that this is very dishonest and Novotel should correct it by clearly specifying that it is a different hotel where you have to cross a 6 way street to get to the other hotel with the beach.

Reception Staff good at arrival and departure. Rude, arrogant,ignorant bar and waiting staff.Do not expect to be rudely dismissed with a wave of hand at any hotel.let alone an alleged 5* hotel. Food was very poor. Ist time ive seen Grey chicken. Not too keen on meat being served on the bone either. Mmmm leaving today with food poisoning and this is best bit. Definitely will not return nor recommend Novotel or sharm el sheikh tbh.As a much travelled british holidaymaker I do not expect to be waited on hand and foot, however, there was a clear distinction made between us and the other russian and middle eastern nationals staying at this hotel. Unacceptable and this place would maybe get 3* in arab Emirates or Europe/rest of world, in my opinion,.
