The view from my room was amazing! Erin, the front desk clerk that checked me in made my trip 100x better. She was helpful and very accommodating as well. So kind! She was also helpful about where to eat in town as well. I will be staying here again next time I visit!

I wanted something on the coast and off the beaten path.Shelter Cove was a delightful surprise! The people were kind and friendly. If you want to relax and unwind,this is a great spot.The Bistro at the Inn of the Lost Coast had the best German Chocolate cake I have ever tasted.

Staff were great. Easy check in. View from room wonderful. Room is dated but had everything we needed. Area fun, nice to have a golf cart rental to poke around in. Must go to Surfpoint down the road for breakfast, amazing views and wonderful food!

I don't know where they got the picture posted on Expedia for this place but I saw nothing that looked like them. The place is tired and old. The staff was very friendly and I have nothing bad to say about them. The carpet was old, the furniture was old and the room kind of smelled like cat pee.

Spectacular ocean-side rooms in Shelter Cove, what more could you want? I loved the coffee shop located on-site, and the views are simply spectacular. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt right at home.

Nice ocean view from my room patio. Room furnishings were a little dated but adequate and what I expected for an Inn like this. Staff handled an issue with an overcharge quickly and refunded my account. I would stay again if in the area.

The view of the Pacific steals the show. The person at the hotel reception was incredibly friendly, polite, and courteous. The pizza restaurant is excellent. It is a difficult drive, as the road is winding and at a high elevation, but once you arrive, you can enjoy the view and the dark-sand beaches.

There was water leakage in the shower area and discoloration on the linoleum. A reddish discoloration indicative of mold. The deck was locked off because it seemed to have issues. This was a disappointing since the sunset from that deck was something we were looking forward to. Other than these maintenance issues it was a nice room and the location is excellent

The staff was great, and the view from our room and balcony were fantastic. Very nice sauna and ocean view spa tub. The hotel itself needs some maintenance and upgrades. The handle on the sliding glass door was broken and the door itself didn’t slide - it required force to open and close. Neither of the showerheads on the (probably once fancy) dual showerhead shower/bathtub combination worked properly. Also, the walls are embarrassingly thin. I learned things about the proclivities of my hotel “neighbors” I could have done without knowing. Our sleep was negatively affected by the people who stayed up late and the others who got up early with most noise we shouldn’t have been able to hear: the opening of luggage, ice going into a glass, etc. We woke up early and exhausted. Two of the three walking distance restaurants offered one star food at five star prices - one of them taking an hour and ten minutes to serve us fatty chicken thighs and cold sides, the other dishing up undercooked sausage patties and “quiche” that was lower quality than frozen grocery store fare. The best thing we had was cheesy garlic sticks from the pizza place, which we got after our disappointing dinner. Come for the friendly staff, in-room spa and beautiful view - but bring your own food, and earplugs.
