Booked property via Expedia. Upon reaching place was told they have no knowledge of booking. Language a big barrier for me. Luckily the Can driver I had booked established communication for me. I was made to pay 15USD per night for 2 nights, Not sure how the place has a review of 8.4/10 They advertised Free Airport Shuttle, but never answered phone. Free Breafast was advertised, but facility had nonsuch option. Have opened claim with Expedia for a refund. Never expected such a thing would happen via Expedia

Would only recommend because of the price.

The owner did not smile once to us even though we smiled at him, and we stayed there for 5 nights.. There were a young guy at the reception when it was late night, he was very friendly and kind. The owner could learn a thing or two from this young guy. Breakfast was decent. Our fridge was gross.

Great homely experience!

Ta Som Guesthouse is a humble place, but filled with warmth. Staff there felt more like family than service staff, and we were pleasantly surprised at their friendliness & kindness. Mr Heng went beyond his duties in ensuring that our Cambodian experience was an unforgettable and genuine one. He was honest & helpful in helping us organize the activities we had planned to do, so I ended up cancelling my initial arrangements with the individual vendors I had planned earlier on.

This place is fantastic

This was my second stay in this authentic Cambodian Guesthouse. We wanted a traditional experience. Frankly, one can stay in a big box hotel anywhere, this is not the goal in Cambodia. The excellent staff assisted us with all of our needs, booked fabulous tours for us, pick-up and drop off services, and made our stay a care free. All we had to do was wake up, eat breakfast, and get picked up for our activities. We booked 2 days of tours through the hotel, and saw 12 temples in 2 days. Excellent location, walking distance to night market, and shopping. More restaurants in this area than anyone can sample in one lifetime. Yet the room was quiet and comfortable, with a large terrace on the end of each floor. No need to stay anywhere else, the price and service is perfect.

A good reason to go back to Siem Reap

I stayed in Siem Reap for 8 days while I explored the temples of Angkor and enjoyed everything about my time there. Ta Som guesthouse, for me, was the perfect place to stay. The room I had was spacious, very clean and very comfortable. Located on the main road it was very convenient to drive to the temples and close enough to walk into the centre of town. I found the staff and family owners to be very friendly especially the receptionist Sok Cheat, he was always extremely helpful, polite, friendly and happy to be of service, you couldn't ask for anyone better than him. The times that I ate there, the food was always fresh, delicious and very reasonably priced. If you don't want to stay in the noisy part of town but want - a good room, good service and great value for money, I would recommend Tas Som Guesthouse

Clean and affordable guesthouse

This place was recommended to me and I wasn't disappointed. The staff were incredible and greeted me by name whenever I arrived. The room was basic but very comfortable and everything worked perfectly. I only stayed one night but I would have stayed longer.

Inexpensive, friendly guesthouse

If you expect a modern hotel, don,t stay here! This place is a notch up from a backpacker with a great working a/c and own bathroom. No maid service daily and the bathrooms are by no means modern! The staff and the owner are very friendly, they offer free airport service, which is very nice. There is a daily ala card breakfast included, which was good.

Convenient location

We stayed for 4 nights and everything went smoothly. We arrived past midnight, given a map and booklet about Siem Reap and was assisted to our room. On our first morning we had breakfast and requested for assistance on places to visit. Ken, the receptionist was very kind in suggesting places to visit and the package tour available. All throughout our stay, Ken was very efficient in handling our tour even for sometime it is for a short notice. All the staff are friendly and always smiling. Room is clean and they always replenished our bottled water. On our last day, Ken arranged for our Tuktuk to bring us to the airport for free and the motor driver is helpful with our luggage and even wishes us a safe trip. Place is highly recommended for budget travelers like us.

Prepare for dive Captain

Total dive top to bottom. Dirty room, thin holey sheets and pillow cases. Why someone would put a filthy dirty comb amongst the toiletries is beyond me. The toilet leaked all over the floor. We booked five nights on the basis of reviews we read but left after two and glad we did. Don't know who is writing the reviews but they are a whole lot less concerned with the basics of comfort and cleanliness than we are and we are not fussy travelers. The worst place we have stayed in during our three months travelling in SE Asia. Good riddance to this place. Avoid at all costs as far as we are concerned. One saving grace is the front staff who were friendly. The owner/ manager would not let the tuk tuk driver we had hired on the property because we did not use his tour company. Very petty and ignorant of him.
