Sierra de Guadarrama, Rascafria hotel rooms at the Sercotel Hotels

"The hotel did not seem like a four star rating, its more like a two star hotel. The only nice thing about this hotel is the cloister area and the city location. The hotel needs a big update, better rugs and curtains as they were old and dirty looking and maintenance for the remaining parts. There is no airfan extraction in the bathroom. The breakfast was OK but the spanish tortilla and hard boiled eggs were cold. "

"Great location and price. The staff were pleasant and answered questions, but I wouldn’t say they were proactive. The room was really nice. Perfect size for just myself. Only real frustration with this hotel and most in Europe- In cold weather, the AC seems to only allow a certain base temperature and it will seem to run the heat even if you don’t want it. I have to leave the window cracked open to be comfortable at night. They say they have luggage storage, but my experience was all that was is a luggage cart. No security and no tickets to ensure that no one can just grab your luggage. "
