“We were in room 3 which was huge, it comprised of a small sitting room, bathroom and large bedroom. Bed was very comfortable, room spotless, tv in both sitting room and bedroom. Small fridge in the sitting room with milk and chilled water which was very welcome as it was extremely hot. Breakfast was lovely, good portions, and all the staff were fantastic. Only let downs were; paper thin walls so could hear quiet conversations in the adjacent rooms, and a noisy shower (neighbour showered at 1am!). it was a heatwave; room fans were provided but it would have been good to fully ventilate the rooms. Due to work commitments i had to leave before breakfast so can't comment on that.”

However the room we were in (an upgraded room) was over the kitchen and every morning at 7am something started up and all we could hear was the hum of it which is annoying when you would like a lie in. We ate both nights in the pub. The food is good but very pricey. On our 2nd night we both had a special which was gammon, 1egg, chips, pinapple and piccalily. “There are not many places to stay in Wimborne. This is probably the best. Don’t expect elevators or lots of modern conveniences here. This is a 16th century hotel with narrow staircases and our room had beamed ceilings and a copper bathtub. What is great is that it is right in the won center and has enough free and secure parking so you don’t need to use a public carpark.”
