“A unique hotel. The inside, whilst being modern with all the amenities you would expect and more, still maintains a 'castle' feel. The staff were super friendly and attentive and provided sound advice when asked about the local area. A good choice for breakfast, which was excellent. A really fantastic stay.”

“Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always excellent as was the food served in the restaurant each evening. Parking for residents was welcome. Our Room was always clean although the bed wasn't always made. The only slight niggle I have is that there was nowhere to put shampoo/soap whilst showering. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

“The room smelt musty as did the corridors but this is an old building. The carpets need upgrading to improve it's appearance along with the outside needing a paint job. Food at breakfast was lovely and the bathroom and bedding clean. We did have someone above us walking around and around til about 11pm and again the next morning on creaky floorboards which was annoying. I've stayed in more modern hotels for a lot less but this was booked last minute. Good location for our needs .”

“We arrived to no one around and after walking around the property finally saw an envelope with our name on it and our key. Our room smelt moldy and damp. The carpet was dirty and the walls were peeling. The beds were very uncomfortable. It was shocking to see after such a high rating. The yard was unkempt and there was a general air of neglect about the whole place. ”
