"Location was good to train station and grand park but biggest issue we had is no water pressure and it was at best lukewarm. This makes me now want to always check first before booking anything how their water service is. It was terrible and when I checked previous reviews it was one of biggest complaints. For this reason alone we won’t me back since after checking out downtown and traveling on the L to games and different places from south side to north side Chicago, you want to be able to have a decent shower and unwind."

"It was a really neat hotel. I liked the style. Wasn't sure why we had to make our own beds though. Also, the phone didn't work in the room, so I tried to call the front desk from my phone. They immediately put me on hold "for a minute", which turned into 5. I hung up to call back thinking they forgot about me, they did the same thing AGAIN. I thought, "Well third time's a charm, right?"-- wrong. Same thing! What if it had been an emergency(flooded room, or something-- not 911 eligible)? It's not like a short trip to the front desk to ask in person. The lady at the café was nice and the food was decent."

"The highlight of this hotel, aside from it's obvious beauty and charm, is the staff. I had an issue with my room when I arrived, and they took immediate action to move me to a better suited room. Everyone I spoke to, from check in to bag holding to the gift shop, was kind, helpful, and eager to help. Also, I bought a scarf/shawl from the gift shop that saved me on this trip during the chilly Chicago nights. It even inspired my friend to pick one up, too! I also grabbed some Garrett's popcorn for my mother-in-law from the gift shop, which was great because it saved me from having to go to the actual shop for it. I will say the breakfast buffet was just okay, not worth the price in my opinion. But the little food shop by the elevators was very good and had pretty much everything I wanted and needed. My only complaint is that the air conditioning in the rooms was very finicky. I know it's an older hotel though. My first room had an AC problem and was even a little musty smelling, and while my second room was much better smelling, the AC still didn't get very cold, so I woke up quite often during the night due to being too warm. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again."
