Historic Strater Hotel

"The historic Strater is a great alternative to sterile modern hotels. Besides being a hotel, it's effectively a museum as well, with many artifacts and displays located throughout the property. Fun place to stay and very friendly/helpful staff."

"I stayed two nights - first night I was put in a room by the road, and the road noise was unbearable. Room itself was nice except for bathroom which had a broken shower mixing cartridge making it hard to find the exact spot where you could get hot water. Front desk person was in office by 8:15am and was very helpful in switching me to another room. Second room was away from the road and much nicer! Staff is excellent here, but breakfast/coffee at 7:30 is a bit late for early risers. Both bathrooms need updating but are functional. TVs are difficult - too many remotes, and you really need to have subscriptions like Netflix, etc to get any background noise in your room."
