Don’t waste your money here!
The place suffers bc the manager has to run not only the hotel but the restaurant while the owner sits in his chair on using phone most of the time. The manager tried to do his best but my adventure started when I showed up and he wasn’t even aware that’s i was comng bc the owner hadn’t told him that I was listed in hotels.com. Then the room didn’t have towels or any toiletries and I had to ask for them. As well they advertised that they had WiFi and I couldn’t now sign on for the first day. Next no in every was sitting st the front desk so it was difficult to find anyone for help. And the food restaurant was bad...the first night I ordered calamari and it arrived burnt and when the waiter came by and asked why I hadn’t eaten them I told him that they were burnt and he did nothing about it. As well the stairs to the beach are really steep and someone will hurt themselves on them sooner then later . The owner needs to invest more in staff and amenities if he wants the place to continue.

Exotisk frukost på stranden!
Efter en strulig incheckning då managern inte hittade vår bokning och skyllde på allt från ett Indienägt bokningssystem till Hotels.com fick vi en superbra vistelse! Det fanns lediga rum då varför orda så mycket i onödan!

NICHT ZU EMPFEHLEN! Vorsicht bei der Buchung.
Als wir im Hotel angekommen sind, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass alle Zimmer bereits ausgebucht waren, trotz der Tatsache, dass unsere Aufenthalt von 5 Tagen bereits bezahlt war. Wie wir erfahren haben, arbeitet das Hotel über eine Vermittlungsfirma VISTA zusammen, die es anscheinend nicht hinkriegt, die Buchungen ordentlich zu verwalten. Da es Sonntag war, wurde uns von der Firma Vista nur mitgeteilt, dass sie die Situation nur am Montag klären können. Der Hotelmanager konnte uns ebenfalls keine vernünftige Lösung anbieten. Am Ende mussten wir spontan eine neue Unterkunft vor Ort suchen. Die Rückerstattung haben wir einen Monat später immer noch NICHT erhalten. Insgesamt sah das Hotel OK aus, jedoch durch so ein unprofessionelles Verhalten überhaupt NICHT zu empfehlen.

Fantastiskt läge på stranden med fina vågor för fantastisk surfing och bad för vuxna! Fantastisk frukost och service när du begär det. Vänlig personal. Hikkaduwa är en utpräglad bad och surfplats men bara badvänlig strand för barn i mitten av byn där stranden är långgrund och inte så höga vågor. Annars gäller poolbad för mindre barn. Fortet i Galle bör besökas. Merissa Beach Club Hotel värt ett besök, för ca 30 kr får man nyttja hotellets faciliteter på dagen. Valsafari men ta VIP plats på båten för det är många kineser som också vill se valarna.

Great value in paradise
Everything ended very well and we enjoyed the stay. The staff was great, extremely accommodating, and went out of their way to help us out. The hotel is dated and not everything is perfect, so if you have a problem with something make sure to let them know and they will take care of it. It's also on an amazing beach, so you won't be spending much time in the room. The hotel was an exceptional value! We would definitely stay there again.
