The property is a great location. Close to the beach. Only negative I have to share is some amenities not available/working, and poor communication after the fact. The condo was clean, and the beds were comfortable.

Ocean Gate Hibiscus had a great location. The beach access led to beautiful, soft white sand. We often saw dolphins just off the beach. Grocery and restaurants were less than 10 minutes away. The property itself was outdated but served its purpose in a quiet corner. We asked to extend our visit an additional day which customer service was able to accommodate. Although no one answered the phone, their response time to sent messages was quick and helpful.

I am sure if you get a nice condo you will be happy. However I got a dirty run down condo and couldn't even ask for a change as they don't answer their phones after 4pm.

First & foremost I am sorry to hear you had an unhappy experience. We would have moved you but the 12 rooms we have ,resort was full. Not sure why they did not answer the phone, this will be addressed with the team.

The unit was really dirty. Furniture stains, old carpet, messy kitchen supplies. I don’t recommend.

We booked this condo to accommodate our family of six. There were only two beds! One child had to sleep on the couch (not a pullout by the way), one child had to sleep on the cot (which would fold up when they moved just a smidge). And my other two children had to share a bed. It said this was an ocean view - it’s not! One of the hot tubs was not working and only one of three pools is heated. We came back after a long day to no water! It was shut off due to a plumbing issue in another condo. No note or anything to us that the water was being shut off. There was only two bowls to use between 6 people! The main bathroom door did not lock. TV in secondary bedroom’s volume was not working. The hardware was falling off the furniture in the secondary bedroom. There were not enough towels for six people (pool and regular). We also were not able to adjust the temperature of the rooms as the thermostat was locked so it was either too hot or too cold depending on the time of day.

We had a spacious condo with a beautiful view. Some things did not work but the management company found ways for us to get our needs met. Nice access to the beach.

We liked this place very much. Not only the condo was comfortable with many amenities included, but it was closed to the (beautiful) beach, restaurants, a supermarket (Publix) and a Starbucks 😀 We will definitely come back soon!

Disappointed overall
We were disappointed overall. The dryer in our condo wasn’t working and although reporting it, no one ever came to fix it. Our condo was very dated. Now for the plus side of our stay. The beach access was good. It was bit of a walk but not bad. The pools were good.

Nice little place at a reasonable price
The condo was small but it had a comfortable bed, which is my most important criterion for a place. The condition of the condo was very good but that of Ocean Hibiscus grounds was not, so thats why i gave it an average rating. The steps and woodwork on the grounds need maintenance. The beach near the property was nice and so were the pools and hottub. The owners should provide a can opener and a broom.

Great property at a great deal. Very close and beautiful walk to the beach. Both pools and the hot tub were clean and not packed. Our rooms were big and clean. Condo had all the amenities and some. Id stay here again for sure.

While apt overall was good size, clean and supplied, I reported dinging alarm in another unit 3 times and no one fixed so heard for entire 3 days. Cracked tile , and squishy subfloor in kitchen. Our bldg exterior needs upgrade, looked like property was being upgraded but not our bldg yet. Good potential if they address these items.

Very sorry that we no longer have an office on site. A code was given to get you in the unit. The phone is available to call 24hrs, if any problems at the resort. Someone calls to see if you have checked in at night.

I liked that it was right on the ocean and it’s very clean. I didn’t like that I reserved an ocean view and it wasn’t available.

We enjoyed our stay and the unit was clean and all parking has a reserved space. The appliances worked but really need to be updated (the microwave and dryer were very noisy) There are several pools and hot tubs located throughout the property and while we didn't use them there seemed to be plenty of chairs and a grill. The front desk promptly answered our late check in question and getting into the unit was a breeze. Thank you for a quiet and relaxing stay.

Shirt break in St Augustine
Visited with my family. Apartment was comfortable and basics like dishwasher tabs, toilet rolls supplied. Second bedroom did not have a window but my son didn’t mind. Complex had direct beach access, pools and tennis. No bar area so bring your own. 10 minute drive into downtown St Augustine- can get traffic queue when the bridge is raised.

Perfect for our family!!
Our stay was amazing!! The place was clean, cozy, the beds were very comfy and there was plenty of room in the 2br apartment for our family of 5! The kitchen was fully equipped with utensils, dishes and everything you need to cook with. The dishwasher and washer and dryer, also worked great! The check in and check out were so easy. The pools, spa, and walk to the beach was great! This place was directly in front of where the sunrise was during our stay from 3/31/22-4/3/22. We will definitely be coming back!!

This condo is worth the price sadly no ocean view but it was nice just hated walking 3 flights of stairs. It was nice a washer and dryer to use, had a jacuzzi tub which was a new experience I will be coming back with our kids when we get to chance

Great Location!
The condo was a great size and in a fantastic location. Perfect for our extended family of five. It was clean and had the basics. The pool was right outside the door. It could’ve used a cleaning but was in pretty good shape. Direct access to the beach was perfect. The check in process was a little concerning but ended up okay. If you reserve via VRBO, they don’t email you any instructions for checking in and it was unnerving to drive so far to just hope we would figure it out. We tried to reach them via the VRBO chat and they never responded. Finally found a phone number via a Google search and the woman who answered was very nice and super helpful! Check in process was easy, once we knew what we were getting into. A few up front instructions would’ve been nice though.

Clean oceanfront hotel.
The resort was at one time a very luxurious hotel. It is still well unkept, exceptionally clean and steps away from the beautiful oceanfront. I would definitely return.

Surface cleaning was evident. Door knobs, doorways, light switches, tv remote were overlooked.
Had all the amenities you could ask for. Bedding was good. Overall, a comfortable stay.

The complex is clean and and conveniently located to many restaurants and to the beaches. Very friendly and respectful staff. Our studio unit did not include a washer/dryer, but we were very happy to know there were credit card operated machines in our unit on the first floor.

Disappointing stay
No elevator available in 3 story building. To call the room ocean view was a joke. Shag rugs are bacteria breeding ground. No tv instruction or channel guide. Kitchen large and well stocked. Beds comfortable. When needed, handyman arrived quickly.

Sorry that you were disappointed during your stay. We would have been able to move you if you were not happy with the room. Our two story building has no elevator, but we do not have a 3. Hope you give us a try at a latter date.

Decent stay with nice grounds.
The overall stay was good. Our room was not the most up to date and some of the things were very cheap. One of our toilets ran the entire time. Pools and grounds were nice. I believe some rooms are nicer than others so its just luck of the drawl.

Great stay! We had a mix up upon arrival my room was not what I was expecting. Simply talked to Gayle in the office. She worked things out and gave us the room!! The property is right on the beach. (But many units sit a distance from it!). Our third floor had a beach view. Good wifi, comfy beds beautiful kitchen and a peaceful balcony with table for outdoor dining. There is a tennis court and several pools at this property. There is gated beach access but it is a trek depending on how close your unit is. Very close to shopping and good dining. The office was good about leaving my packet in a box for me since it was a late check in and they were closed. Overall I would recommend and if not happy the staff is willing to help make things right!!

Great Property, Management Could Be Better
The condo unit was great. A full 2 bedroom/2 bathrooms with a pull out couch bed. Everything was clean and all silverware/dishes were supplied. The only issue I had was with the check in process. The unit was ready when we arrived on property at 1pm, but the wouldn't activate the lock code until the actual check in time of 4pm. They at least let us park and hang at the beach, but would have been nice to unload the car since the room was already vacated and cleaned.

A few days in St Augustine Beach
We loved our stay there. It is a complex of a few buildings with 10-18 condos each - you have to cross the walkway over the protected dunes and you are on the beach. The beach was very wide with the low tide in the morning. Perfect for walking, running, biking. The ocean was too cold for swimming at the beginning of March. All the condos have a balcony with a table and chairs. It is an older property but everything was very clean. Good value. Publix store is a mile or so down the road. We would definitely consider coming back.
