Good basic accommodation
Basic rooms, clean bedding. Take a towel. Quite noisy Saturday night but Sunday was quieter. Breakfast is particularly good and a vegetarian option is also available. Pre-booking is necessary. Staff very helpful and friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised by the YHA. Sure, you don't get a kettle or a TV in your room - so it is a little Spartan but it was quiet, clean and had individual rooms available with a shower and toilet. The local area was quiet and picturesque. I would happily stay here again.

Good location for walking to local attractions. Friendly, helpful staff. Shane about the noisy families next door keeping me awake til two in the morning.

Nicely placed YHA on the edge of the National Forest so plenty of good walking and cycling around. Dinner and breakfast is available and is of a good standard.

Beautiful setting, so mush to see and do locally. All the amenities you need. Nice and clean, staff really friendly

Ideal for the National Forest Trails
Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ideally situated right next to the trails of the National Forest.

Nice new features for the YHA
Great hostel, clean and welcoming. They have both a self-catering kitchen, and a cafe and bar--really nice feature for a YHA!

Thank you for the review. We offer a full meals service, a full English Breakfast, Evening Meals and during the day we operate a café so you can buy hot drinks and a range of paninis, jacket potatoes, pizzas and other delicious food.

YHA, AOK!
It is what I expected, plus a little more as it has a restaurant onsite, plus a full kitchen so you can cook your own food. The room was comfortable for one and it's next to a lovely forest and canal area so great for walking. Compared with a hotel it is a little basic, but then it was inexpensive and a different type of stay. Staff were friendly and helpful

Cheap and basic
Ok considering the price. Had a 4 bed private room for 39quid. Main issue is the bunk beds have waterproof mattresses on which make it very hot at night. Especially with 4 ppl in a small room and no air conditioning, none of out group had much decent sleep because it was so uncomfortable. Rest of the hostel and the surrounding area is nice. Good bar and pool table, we didn't eat thoughts cannot review food.

Simple and effective!
Fast, easy and very friendly, informative staff. Room / bathroom smelt of drains but perhaps thats the out of season timing so rooms aren't used very much. Thin walls and loud banging doors easy to hear but very comfortable bed and clean rooms.

Hey Robin, thanks for the review. Great to hear you enjoyed the stay and apologies on the drain smell. We have now implemented an action that if rooms have been vacant for 48 hours we go and 'flush' them through to make sure they're fresh for guests arriving.
