“A last minute booking at this small out of the way historic inn. It was busy at the bar where we checked in so a short wait. Room was basic but well appointed, bed super comfy, shower was hot, tea and coffee in room. Self serve continental breakfast in a dining room was great. Food in the restaurant was amazing and beautifully presented. Set in a small town with adjoining farmland. Close the Hampton Court Castle and gardens.”
“We had the hayloft that could sleep 3 but was a win for us as a couple. It was in a out building, with easy access to the garden, bar and dining areas, but was a bit difficult to get suitcases over the gravel pathway. Very quiet, lots of space and windows to open. The restaurant meal and breakfast was fabulous.”
“Dated, but with enough charm to make this aspect fade into insignificance. Great area too - plenty of on-site parking, peaceful, and with fantastic views from the dining area.”
“Really lovey place to stay if you just want peace and quiet, very basic and very romantic and secluded.
Just hear in mind your only cooking appliances are a cooking hob. So any meals you plan on cooking must be cookable in a saucepan or frying pan.
That being said the rose and crown in Michaelchurch.”
“Unfortunately our stay had to be cut short by 2 days as my back could not tolerate the only bed in the property which is lumpy and hard. Think of a bag of potatoes and you wouldn’t be far off.
I’ll end on a positive, the rear garden is beautiful!”
