Quintessential Japan. The food, the staff, the hotel, the baths were all amazing.

Wonderful service & food. Multi course traditional dinner & breakfast. Our waitress/maid for our stay, Ota-San was fantastic. Access to private onsens as a couple was nice. They also provided yukayas for us to wear on property. Amazing ryokan experience!

If you like Japan this hotel should be on your bucket list. Located right on the beach in Minamichita and within walking distance to several nice restaurants. Our room had a spectacular sea view. We had dinner at the Seaside Capri restaurant next door. The waiter had an Ipad with a picture menu for us. Being a typical Japanese Ryokan you change into a yukata. (The yukata is a casual version of the kimono.) After dinner we went to the 3rd floor where there are 2 first come first serve hot...

The hotel is a bit dated but the location is excellent if you want to ride on the Gozaisho Ropeway. It is right next to the Ropeway station. Moreover and since we booked our room on a Sunday that traffic to the hotel is quite bad as a lot of people were driving to the summit to take the ropeway ride. On the other hand, we take advantage of its vicinity to the station that we are the first taking the ride the next day. Ticket to ropeway riding is sold in the hotel at a discount. The hotel...

From Shikanoyu, it's a 5 minute walk to the cable car (called a Ropeway in Japan) that goes to the top of Mt Gozaisho. It's close to the Suzuka race course, and the flower garden Nabana no Sato. It's also within driving distance of Ise Jingu (1 hr 20 minutes), Kyoto (1 hr 30 minutes) and Hikone Castle (1 hr 25 minutes) The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the food is what you would expect from a good ryokan in Japan...exquisite. My room was spacious and quiet, and the ofuro and...

Upon our arrival, an employee greeted us and helped with luggage. The public area was elegant and displayed so many beautiful artwork and antiques. Being at the top of a hill and by the ocean/bay, the view was gorgeous especially during cherry blossom season. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection mainly Japanese food including pacific lobster miso soup. There was a spacious coffee/tea ( snacks) area with the same beautiful view. Our room was a tatami, sofa set, and bed combo and was...

We had a wonderful stay at Asahikan. The hosts were exceptional and made delicious and abundant meals for us, were super friendly and helpful, and gave us many suggestions on things to see and do in the area. We highly recommend Asahikan and definitely would return.

Wonderful service All of f the staff were very helpful and friendly

Amazing views, incredible staff, wonderful food, and excellent onsen. Worth it!

Clean room, good Japanese breakfast. I didn't get a chance to check out the bath house.

Excellent service and spacious room. The Onsen is really great and the food is high quality. Once the shuttle bus from the hotel pick you up, you basically have to stay at the property for the hot spring and food.

A cozy, traditional ryokan with a wonderful local hot breakfast.
