"I am a frequent traveller to Uganda, as I work in the travel industry. I rarely ever write reviews. I have stayed at the Latitude many times since it opened. What was once my favourite, and the best hotel in Kampala, has now become tired and very run down. Management has made unfortunate decisions with the layout - the buildings and pool areas look tired, unreliable wifi in common areas, and the staff could use some encouragement as they are not engaged. Latitude is a boutique hotel - the decision to move the gym in favour of another conference room was unfortunate. The gym used to be amazing. There are more than enough other conference hotels in Uganda! The food is overpriced, generally confusing menu (no prices listed on some menus), and really just overall lacking. Most notably, one morning the entire staff was eating from the breakfast buffet, while I was trying to get the last remaining food as a guest. The design, food, and layout/vibe of the hotel, which made the place so special - is no more. Very disappointed. We actually checked out early to move hotels. Of course, no refund or special accommodations. I will not return until management makes some changes. "
"I have stayed here a total of four times and have found it to be an excellent hotel. Clean, attentive, friendly staff, and excellent food. It's proximity to the airport is a big plus. Highly recommend this hotel. Also don't miss the Botanical Gardens just a short walk away."
"Reception staff were very friendly and courteous. Wait staff, although there always many around, paid little attention to customers. Food quality was okay, but key items (like cheese) were sometimes unavailable making many dishes unavailable. Food and drinks were delivered exceedingly slowly. Getting a Coke Zero & burger for dinner was a two hour event. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean, but there were only two bath towels and no hand towels. When I asked for one I was given a washcloth that was not replaced the next day. On my last day a bath mat appeared. Breakfast buffet had many options but little was fresh. A little more attention to detail, especially around food and beverage service would be great."
"The rooms are clean, with parking in the basement, we enjoyed the breakfast, variety of dishes, nice tasty food. Staff are very polite and helpful. But the bed is hard to sleep on, Personally i love asoft confortable bed, I think the beds could be improved. But over enjoyed our stay."
