"I was really pleased with my stay - the hotel was just across the road from the station and right on the edge of the centre of Rennes, a great location. The room was fantastic - love the decoration, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the air-conditioning was a life saver in the heat! Breakfast is cheap & cheerful, the standard continental breakfast. I did really like the crepes and the fresh vanilla loaf. The staff were very friendly and helpful - thanks again to the team."

"Fantastic suite on the top floor which was large and spacious with two terraces and an indoor seating area. The bed was extremely large and comfortable and the air conditioning worked very effectively. Nice small bar with a small outside area at the back of the hotel. The staff were polite and efficient. Highly recommend."

"The Balthazar was beautiful and the location was great. We walked from the train station (15 mins) and also an easy walk to Cathedral etc. Rooms and lobby were clean and pretty. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!"

"Our second visit, and it definitely won't be our last. Another brilliant stay. The staff are really helpful and we're able to answer any questions we had. The room and other facilities, including the pool and spa, are fantastic and a real bonus in a city centre hotel. Already looking forward to next time!"

"Visited with teen grandson in August, temp in low 30’s very hot. Room temp is set at reception so requested that it be turned down to mid/low 20’s which was done but kept resetting to a higher temp! Room was quite small and had two single beds even though I had booked two twins, queried at reception but was told that counts as a twin?? However, overall hotel was comfortable, welcoming and clean with very friendly personable staff. Would recommend despite my moans as very convenient with great transport links.."

"Overall, above average. Need to improve: lots of flies made breakfast scary (it could be hard to avoid flies in the area). Coffee machine was broken. Staff promised repair but never happened."

"Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful. It was a good location. We had a good night’s sleep. We were able to eat at the restaurant which was basic but we were very happy that we didn’t have to go out to eat. Overall very good."

"The Hotel was nice and close to Mont St Michel with the shuttle at a few steps of property. The instructions for arrival and parking were very confusing I left my car at la ‘ferme de St Michel’ restaurant as per instructions while the Hotel did have private parking. I was surprised the Hotel did not have airco but then again on website it was not specified so can’t really blame them. When sleeping 4 the rooms have a queenbed in a second floor room but the stairs were a bit steep and dangerous at night if you have to go to washroom that is on first level only. So keep your kids always in lower floor. Beds were comfy and room was clean had a coffee machine but no complimentary water - we took water from the tap ( fine by me) People at reception were always friendly"
