Location is excellent. Across from the front beach. This is where the locals swim and come to buy fresh fish daily right off thoses colorful boats. It is older establishment but because of that the rooms are huge. There seems to be so much room everywhere. This what VN used to be like 40 years ago. I loved the experience and would recomment it especially for highly intellectual folks who can have a deeper appreciation of this place.

The Grand Hotel is Great Value...! Clean BIG Comfortable beds..! **What I Did NOT Like: I did not like Expedia Deceitful photos of the rooms...! I selected a "Deluxe Triple Room" as advertised by expedia BUT only to find the bathroom in the deluxe triple room is NOT as expedia advertised it...!! you (expedia) cost me an axtra $40 AUD when I could have selected a "Superior Triple Room" for cheaper. My selection was based on what I thought looked like a better nicer bathroom. Your pictures are misleading & bullshit...!! **Please Note: I LOVE the Grand Hotel & it is Expedia who I am very dissapointed with...!

Room was clean though appliances are dated. First room after checked in did not have hot water, and was moved to a different room. Room was relatively spacious, facing the ocean but also main street that was crowded and VERY NOISY until 1AM on 12/15/18 night when Vietnam won the soccer match against Malaysia and people flooded the streets, understandably. Breakfast was great with varieties to choose from. Overall, it was a nice stay and I would go back to this hotel again.

This, is a genuinely nice hotel. Has a superb location, the hotel has real history. The rooms are generously proportioned and the staff are absolutely superb.

Save no power for 3 to 4 times on 1 night stay, electricity to twice for 2 days, there is no lift, the food is at hotel 20m ahead. I will definitely reconsider if i want to book again!

Hotel with No passenger Lift
This hotel was over rated, the balcony handrails was rusty and old, poor of maintenance. Check-in is slow, the staff can't find my name. Another important thing, this hotel do not have passenger lift.

Quiet and comfortable, close to the bars.
Hotel pool and gym were great. I was upgraded to a suite. Short walks to bars and restaurants. Beach was nothing much.

Nice older hotel close to front beach. Very quite location. Nice pool. Staff was very attentive and helpful. If you get this place for 800k to 1m dong a night its a good deal.

Grand, elegant style
Will come back again. Large rooms and hallways, high ceilings and the elegance of yesteryear. But if you get off the ferry from Saigon and ask for the taxi to take you to the hotel make sure he turns right and not left like the taxi did to me and take me 20klm around vung tau when the hotel was only 300m away. Taxi VietNam no good. Everything else, Superb.

A great place to stay for a few days of relaxation
I really like the location of the Grand : opposite the beach, with a lovely park. And, easy walking around town. Vung Tau is now a lovely seaside town, that is giving some of the bigger resorts some real competition, and the Grand is central to this.

Good spot in Vung Tau
This is an older but mostly well looked after property, the aircon was noisy and inefficient. Staff were fabulous and the pool was lovely and refreshing. Breakfast was a bit ordinary but fine.

nice hotel, close to the beach,
Was greeted upon arrival by friendly efficient staff. Was advised and impressed that they had upgraded our room from pool view to sea view. No elevator so thankful that bellboy assisted with baggage to the room. Large room, beautifully finished, with double doors on to the balcony facing the ocean. Noticed that wallpaper was peeling off the walls slightly and detracted from the appearance of the room but otherwise everything good. Unfortunately, upgrading us to sea view from pool view meant that we were not only facing the sea, but the main road. The traffic noise was excessive because in Vietnam they use their horns a lot! The road is especially busy on weekends.

Good Location, Adequate Condition
- This is a beach front big hotel with ample parking, even for tour buses. You should drive directly here and swim at a not very crowded beach right across the street. Afterward, go rinse yourself at the hotel pool or chill in the outdoor jacuzzi. The hotel state is adequate, not as old as people commented. The room is decent and spacious. Breakfast is good. You gotta try the street side coffee place on the premise, good price and service. - Drawback number 1: pool guard attitude is more on ROUGH side. - Drawback number 2: the hotel does not offer free room for tour bus driver.

Our 1st night was interrupted by loud cricket sounds up in the attic. So loud that they woke us up and we went outside the room we still heard them on hallways. We called hotel staffs and they offered us a room with less loud cricket sounds but we refused. We got another room downbelow and it was fine. Overall good service, clean but needs improvement on old hallway carpets. We loved the live music lounge the most. Good place to relax and listen to music or singing with live music as well. Also needs elevators for carrying luggages upstairs.

Hotel heeft een upgrade nodig. 4 sterren hotel en geen lift. Ontbijt (niet echt degelijk) te nemen in een ander hotel waarschijnlijk van dezelfde groep. Uitzicht van mijn kamer was op een blinde muur op 3 meter afstand, kamer geweigerd. Nieuwe kamer uitzicht op metalen dak en vele airco's. Het hotel was 95% leeg, men had gemakkelijk een upgrade kamer kunnen geven. Ontbijtbon ben ik op de 5 dagen 3 maal zelf moeten gaan aanvragen. s'Nachts wandelt ge het hotel in en uit zonder probleem of controle. Safetybox 2 keer defect, ondermeer platte batterijen.
