Aloha Sharon. Mahalo for your review. We are working to replace the dining table and chairs in the room you were in. I wish that room was big enough for a sofa or chair but the only rooms with sofa's are the suites. We are currently working to get a new table and chairs into the unit as well. One of the prior guests accidentally damaged the table so we had to improvise and only had the outdoor table and chairs to replace it with for your stay. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience but am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Mahalo.

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed solitude while staying at The West Inn and sorry to hear that you endured noise between the adjoining door in your room. We only have 3 sets of rooms like this and wish we knew and could have moved you to a different room. We hope it wasn't too much of an annoyance and appreciate you choosing to stay with us. Mahalo.

As you mentioned we only do housekeeping twice a week which comes to every third or fourth day and you were a guest for 3 nights, therefore, service was not done during your short stay. We refresh supplies upon request during those few days but never heard from you. I apologize for management not being on property as often as you would have liked. We had one person on vacation and another came down with Covid so we are a bit short staffed in the front office at times right now but we can always be reached by phone should you need anything. As for the AC situation, it should not shut off through the night unless there was a power outage or you had it set to AUTO which means it shuts off when it reaches the temperature you selected. Then cycles back on when the room gets above that temperature. I'm wondering if that was the issue or the massive storm that came through during your stay. Overall, it sounds like you enjoyed the town and the room and we appreciate you choosing to stay at The West Inn. Happy Holidays!

I'm sorry to hear that the guests in the next room were blasting their music. Did you try contacting reception about this? And thank you for mentioning the hot water at night. We are looking to see if the solar water heater holding tank shut off. This happens sometimes so thank you for bringing that to our attention. Hello Sharon. You were charged for the extra 2 people that you snuck into the room @ $30/night per person. The room only accommodated 2 people and you confirmed it would only be 2 people and you ended up having 4 in the room and there is a $30/per person extra fee per night so that is what you were billed for. Also, we do cleaning bi-weekly as stated in our terms and conditions and did come in and clean the room half way through your stay. You were also given a FREE upgrade to a kitchen room which was a big mistake on our part. We have never had anyone leave a unit so filthy with boogers on the wall and food caked onto every dish in the unit and trash throughout the room. It took my cleaning staff over 3 hours to clean the 300 sq. ft. room and scrape all of the walls down to remove the boogers your children left for us. Not to mention that your kids were running up and down the decks with no adult supervision. I have never had to make a response like this before buy sadly, you tried to sneak in 2 extra people without us knowing and then proceeded to completely trash the room. We could have also charged you a $250 excess cleaning fee due to the condition of the room but waived that fee and only charged for the extra 2 people. It sounds like we are both unhappy with the experience and sadly it cost us more than what you were billed for.

Thank you for bringing the slow Wi-Fi to our attention. I will find out why it is running so slow right now as normally there is no problem. Some of our rooms have the box ac’s which make more noise than the split systems but I hope you were able to use the ceiling fan to keep cool. Overall we are happy you enjoyed your room and thank you again for bringing the Wifi issue to our attention.

We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at The West Inn and thank you for your sweet review. We are in a great location for both going up to the Waimea Canyon as well as boat tours out of Port Allen and we get a lot of people that are staying on the east side or North Shore but come to stay a night with us the night prior to an early morning boat tour. Sure beats driving for 1.5 hours first thing in the morning. Mahalo for stay with us and aloha!
