Only one set of towels (for two people). We were given hand towels as replacement. Hairdryer was broken. Shower was scalding hot with broken control. Safety grip handle (in bath) was broken. Ventilation system was not working. No manager on duty when we checked out so unable to secure any partial refund.

Disappointing. Although it looked great on the website and obviously had been an amazing property at some stage, it was tired and quiet shabby. The room was nice, generally clean but had obviously had dogs in at some stage, as this set our allergies off. The hotel is obviously geared to large coach parties and weddings. There was indeed a party there and we were therefore restricted as to when we could eat in the evening (bar or restaurant) and when we did decide to have bar food and agreed a time, there was no fish and chips and no scampi available, from an already limited menu (this was after we had ordered drinks at the bar to be told that they had run out of lemonade mixers). We ate somewhere else. Breakfast was a buffet and ‘ok’ As I say, disappointing, we had moved from another hotel at the last minute due to being let down, and this was a birthday celebration, so we won’t be revisiting (especially as we had travelled from Cornwall!).

So charming - a lovely older property with character. We dined in the house restaurant two nights and found the food to be delicious. The breakfast was very good as well, with the typical English breakfast and pastries. The staff were so pleasant and helped us with various needs. The property is quite large and spacious. The decor, while a little dated, was really charming and the bathroom had all new fittings. We loved being able to open our window in the lovely weather and not having to pay for parking was a bonus. I would love to stay here again.

Fairly frequent stayer here , room we had this time 103 was effectively a suite , very large and comfortable. Easily the best we’ve had here

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, the room was large and comfortable, it was exceptionally hot in the room, despite being April and not warm outside. Fortunately the hotel provided a large fan which helped. The shower was disappointing- more of a dribble than a torrent. The staff were polite but not engaging. Overall I would recommend it.

Carpets & curtains ingrained with dirt. Wallpaper peeling. Smell of damp in bedrooms. Bath mat black with mould. But majority of staff very pleasant and helpful. Shame they work in a hotel that is in need of maintenance and major redecoration

In the season we visited early spring. The area was lovely and quiet and within walking distance of Charlecote house & parkland. with lovey safe walks amongst the fallow deer & river side.

A good nights stay.
Stayed for one night only, had family business in Warwick/Stratford. Room was fine,large and clean and facilities good. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was fine but not to my taste.My wife's dessert, clementine tart, was to die for. Breakfast was the usual help yourself breakfast bar which was fine, hot and plentiful. All in all a good stay.

Not an adjoining room.
The girl at reception who had just come back from New York was very friendly and helpful telling us everything about the hotel and flooded area’s. The girl in the restaurant on her own was also very nice and did a great job. Our room was comfortable but we had joining doors to the next room I suppose a family room and the noise that came through that was unbelievable. We could hear everything the two women were saying like they were in our room and when they got up at 5.00am we could hear their alarm, going in the bathroom, talking, making tea, dog barking and then leaving. Don’t know where they were going at that time in the morning, did not hear them come back but heard the same again when they went out after 8.00am. Shame as our stay would have been lovely if it had not been for that. Room very good for price so we will use that hotel again if in area but make sure we don’t have an adjoining room.

The room was tired, the radiator in the bathroom didn’t work. The bed was uncomfortable, basically sleeping on springs. No hairdryer in the room, called reception about 8am it took 25 minutes for someone to answer my call, no apology whatsoever. Eventually got the hairdryer around 10am.

The hotel was okay. We enjoyed our stay and the value for money was good. However, the hotel staff seemed mismanaged and there was a need to update parts of the hotel. It has the potential to be a great hotel, but it is missing some important details. It is either the ownership or the management, which do not appear to be working together.

We’ve stayed before and this wasn’t the best stay. The staff were really good but the radiator in our room didn’t work . A portable one was quickly delivered but it meant a cold bathroom. Breakfast was chaotic , one coffee machine was out of use so long queues. We’d normally have 2 or 3 cups but only had time for one. We’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and stay again but it wasn’t perfect

A hotel to return to.
We were warmly welcomed by staff and had a spacious and comfortable room.We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant. The setting of the hotel is ideal fir visiting the local area and particularly close to Charlecote park.We shall be back.

Good food, pleasant efficient staff coping well with just few of them, good bar and restaurant areas. Not keen on traipsing through the rain to the restaurant. Mattress very soft and bouncy - uncomfortable. Convenient location for Warwick, Kenilworth and Stratford.

A relaxing break.
Great hotel for a base to get to NEC, polite reception lovely room comfy 4 poster bed very clean and tidy lots of vintage features, bay windows high ceilings loads of room all round had a massive bath and a shower in the bathroom very warm at night .Enjoyed the restaurant and bar foods great, all the service staff very helpful and pleased to assist in any way. This is the second time i have stayed and its in a lovely location loads of parking, feel safe and secure while staying there. Nice relaxed atmosphere will always consider this hotel for stay in the future.

We had a lovely one night stay here for our anniversary. We advised the hotel before our arrival and received two complimentary drinks at the bar. We stayed dinner bed and breakfast in an executive room which was very large, clean and comfortable. The dinner was delicious and excellent value on a dbb basis. Breakfast was a buffet which was nice enough but given the dinner was so delicious if they could do breakfast to order I think that would be better but nothing wrong with it. All the staff we met were excellent and friendly.

Really disappointing to book, arrive and then be told that without prepay booking that there would be no food available. Not good enough. Staff were pleasant and hotel ok. Be careful in the carpark at night, I tripped on the unlit potholed carpark. No damage done but could have been worse.
