"A great hotel with a real sense of warmth and tranquility, fantastic staff and clean well made rooms. It sits at the top of the Ounasvaara hill, so prepare for it, but we loved it. The views over the forest, with the town beyond, are lovely.
It's a lovely walk along the forest path down to Rovaniemi (about 2km), we stayed in October and there was no snow. Be prepared for the climb back up, or hop in a taxi for a short ride.
The restaurant is a real highlight: local flavours, beautifully served by knowledgeable staff. There's a children's menu too, and our 11-year-old was very happy eating there.
