“Cleanliness was tops. Distance to Heathrow and ease of shuttle to the airport were great, but we expected it to be free. When we called to book, and ask about a shuttle, we found out it was available, but no one mentioned a per person fee....we had spent all our pounds so we wouldn't take any home to the states, and the driver didn't have change for a 20pound note, so we had to use a debit card. Minor annoyance, but...”

“Nice place to stay - very convenient for events at Sparkford Hall as its walkable in 10 minutes - comfy family room which was spacious and had the essentials with a nice clean bathroom. Would stay again in the future as it was in quite a nice location.”

“A simple and modest country village pub with very friendly owners who took great pains to welcome and look after me. Arriving late, they had kept a good supper for me. The bedroom was large, clean and nicely old fashioned. The old church nearby chimed through the night but did not wake me. As I left before breakfast, the landlords left me a sandwich and apple. In no way smart and modern but with a very warm and relaxing atmosphere. ”

“The room was clean, comfortable and warm - we stayed in November. The staff were considerate and helpful, they made us feel very welcome. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. The bar and restaurant were tastefully decorated and the lighting and roaring woodburners made for a cosy experience. Will gladly sstay again when passing through the area. ”

“Friendly staff, clean well presented. One room faces a busy roundabout with only an ill fitting sash window to reduce the noise . So noisy traffic can be heard. ”
