I had stayed in a Social Hub in Madrid and found it to be an excellent alternative to main stream hotels. The one in Amsterdam was not the case. The location for this hotel is not very good. We were assigned a handicap accessible room without requiring nor requesting one. They did change our room but unfortunately the air conditioning in that room did not work. When I enquired at the desk I was told that none of the rooms had air conditioning because it was illegal in Europe to have AC. This is of course false. The rooms were climate controlled except our room was about 25-28 degrees even though the thermostat was set to 18. They said they would send someone but never did. We survived by opening the window and luckily the fall weather kept the room comfortable for sleeping. We did not spend any daytime hours in the room. Overall, for the money we paid, we could have had a much better hotel room, closer to the city centre and in a safer, more friendlier area. I do not recommend staying at this location.

Love love love this place. Whether you’re hosting a work retreat, need a break from the bustle, or on holiday like me, this Social Hub has something for everyone. Modern ambiance and vibes for days. The DJs on weekend nights have excellent taste in records The staff is stellar. Thank the interior decorator too. I will be coming back with friends.

Great stay, central and clean. Door was just a little hard to turn to exit the room.

The location of the hotel was superb for sightseeing. Long queues to check in and the Expedia photos of the executive room were actually of a mini suite, so misrepresentative! So we were disappointed with the room when we saw what we were allocated! The shower was faulty & did not drain properly & flooded the bathroom. We mentioned this several times to the staff & it was never resolved for the duration of our stay. The door to our room was dodgy & often did not lock. The cleaning staff were unhelpful & on one occasion I left my night clothes under the pillow & they would not make the bed! Breakfast quality was mediocre to poor-for a city that specialises in cheese, the cheese was dried out & poor choices. Staff were variably helpful-one told us that this was the way the showers were constructed & that there was no fault with ours! Overall…we would not stay here again & would recommend that you stay elsewhere!
