Lovely welcome from Emmanouil who couldn’t have been more helpful. We got upgraded which was nice and had a big apartment. Incredible value for money. We loved Plaka. Lots of nice restaurants and bars and not forgetting the one attached to the accomodation which was perfect for our lunch.

Die Unterkunft liegt in Sichtweite des Meeres und wird vom Eigentümer und seinem Team liebevoll betrieben. Alle sind extrem herzlich und helfen bei jedem Anliegen sofort. Das Speisenangebot im angeschlossenen Cafe des Eigentümers ist SO gut, dass ich irgendwann nur noch bei ihm gegessen habe. Tip: Greek Omelette und Greek Salad! Alles griechische Hausmannskost, gut und preiswert. Mein Apartment hatte Terrassen in zwei Himmelsrichtungen, sodass ich immer Schatten oder Sonne nach Bedarf fand. Ich werde definitiv wiederkommen.

I booked this particular apartment as I wanted 2 separate bedrooms for the kids not sofa beds . Manolis the owner is one of the nicest people we’ve met-so helpful and accommodating. The 2 bedroom sea view was perfect - a beautiful sea view of Spinalonga and a walk across the road from Plaka beach. The apartment was fairly basic but we never intended to self cater - we ate out so that suited us fine . However it had everything you need and was very spacious and immaculately clean with a modern bathroom . It was cleaned every single day with fresh sheets and towels which was a bonus , and a huge balcony . We paid for breakfast included which when it came was not our ideal choice but this was easily rectified when we mentioned it and we had a breakfast of our choice after that. I can’t recommend Athena Apts enough and will definitely be back-

Great little room

Athina is close to the centre of the village. Spinalonga ferries within a five minute walk. The property was easy to find just past the bus stop. Buses are every hour to Agios Nikolaos and Elounda. Our room was clean and adequate although a small set of drawers would be good for smaller items of clothing. The bathroom was small and newly refurbished. The breakfast was initially disappointing but remedied when we asked for an alternative so ended up being lovely. The owner is lovely and very caring.

Just brilliant

We visited Athina Villas in July 2015 for one night to visit Spinalonga Island. The owner Manolis was already expecting us and gave us a very warm welcome. We also got some wine, raki and olive oil as a gift. This was very much appreciated. If you visit Plaka village, this is definately the hotel to stay in.

Everything excellent from the moment we arrived to when we left. The friendly owner was very helpful, and keen to ensure we had a good stay. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this accomodation to others.

Frendly staff

Staff was very frendly and helpfull. Only problems were very bad smelling mattress and shower because there was not hand shower, only on the ceiling with very small water pressure. Hotel location information in the map off Hotels.com is incorrect. It is not opposite the beach instead allmost half kilometers to the south.

Nice place to be

Very friendly and helpful owner, good location in the east to discover interesting places, good restaurants and a small super market around the corner, next to the small port were boats depart for spinalonga Thank you Manolis - if we come back to Crete we will stay here again.
