Well located although Alesund is not that big. My room was a good size with a large wall to wall, ceiling to floor window overlooking the sea. Kept nice and clean during my stay (not by me). Excellent breakfast with a very wide range of options. I didn't try the top floor restaurant but it commanded an excellent view of the town without having to climb the 418 steps to the viewpoint at the rear of the hotel. Excellent WiFi. Parking to the rear and underneath at an additional cost.

We recommend upgrading your room from economy. It did what it needed but the room is definitely dated and faces the street. Other than that, great hotel. Breakfast was nice too!

We booked a superior room which was on a high floor. The floor to ceiling windows were the entire width of the room and the view was amazing. Our room was ready early which was a bonus. The room was decorated nicely and was a good size with arms chairs. We didn’t book breakfast as the breakfast area was at the back of the lobby with no windows. The hotel is up a small hill so bear in mind if you are rolling bags from the airport bus or the ferry. We would stay here again as it was good value for the location. The hotel is also right by the park with the stair case up to the viewpoint

Beautiful views, good location

The hotel was in a good location to walk around Ålesund. The breakfast buffet was tasty - lots of options. The staff was nice and efficient. Only negative - thin, rough towels.

I usually don’t write reviews, but in this case I feel it’s necessary to share my experience. The location is simply wonderful. You can walk almost anywhere, and there is parking just around the corner. The breakfast was excellent. And that’s about all the good things I can say. The sewage system is a nightmare. There was a terrible fecal smell constantly coming from the floor drain in the bathroom. I asked the staff three times to do something about it. The girls at the reception smiled and were polite, but nothing ever changed. The phone in the room didn’t work. The TV had no internet connection. There is no minibar in the room, so you have to go all the way to the first floor even if you want a cup of tea or coffee. The only thing really worth praising is the breakfast. That’s it. Everything else was simply awful. I stayed in room 402, and I am a real guest who actually stayed at this hotel.

The hotel is centrally located. We stayed there the night before the Geiranger fjord cruise. It was walkable from the hotel to the boat dock. Also, the hotel prepared a breakfast to go because we left before the dining room opened. It was very good service on their part.

Great stay with a toddler

We stayed at Scandic Parken for 2 nights with our 18 month old daughter and it was an excellent base to explore Ålesund. Parking was very convenient with a door leading from the car park straight to the hotel elevator. We were able to check in early and the requested cot was already set up in our room. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable with a bath, which is ideal with a little one! Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice. The hotel is conveniently located for exploring Ålesund. We highly recommend.

Loved the property! Our king room on a higher floor had an amazing view of the town and water. View was just as good from our window as it was from that steep hike you can do to overlook the town. Ceiling to floor windows. We left curtains open all night it was so pretty. Staff was great. Friendly and nice Only criticism is parking. Had to parallel park on the hilly streets and move the car by like 7am or pay a lot for hotel lot. But parking in Norway at hotels is expensive and rare

This hotel in Ålesund knows exactly how to impress. The views are the kind that make you stop mid‑sentence, the beds are so comfy you start negotiating with yourself about getting up, and the shower? A full spa moment for a traveler that didn’t bring the essentials, great water pressure, plus actual shampoo, conditioner, and lotion!!! The only heartbreak? Breakfast starts at 8am on Sundays, and our fjord cruise left at 8. So yes, we missed what I’m sure was a glorious spread, and yes, I’m docking them a tiny point for Sunday morning timing. Let the early birds live! Still, between the comfort, the views, and the little luxuries, it’s easily one of Ålesund’s best stays. I was sad we only got to spend one night!
