Don’t be put off by the picture

We were just passing through Altenburg staying for one night so booked this based on price rather than aesthetic appeal and had no expectations of greatness. We were very pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. The room was large and clean with a good bathroom. The bar also helped things along. Overall I would recommend this hotel, it is much better than the picture would suggest.

Wir waren um 19:30 Uhr im Hotel und wollten einchecken. Check In bis 20:00 Uhr. Da wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass das Zimmer umgebucht wurde. Da laut AGBs bis 18:00 Uhr bei Bezahlung vor Ort eingecheckt werden muss. Da es ja bei AGBs 100 Seiten in Mikroschrift gibt die sich eh keiner durchliest, hatten wir kein Zimmer mehr. Das könnte man auch beim CheckIn mit vermerken. Habe die Expedia App gelöscht und buche nun bei anderen Anbietern.

Die Dame am Empfang beim einchecken war sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer/das Haus sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Was gar nicht so schlimm ist, wenn wenigstens die Sauberkeit da wäre. Im Bad lauter Schimmelflecken in den Fugen der Wanne. Der Duschvorhang hatte auch schon bessere Jahre. Der Wagen des Zimmermädchen stand Tag und Nacht im Gang. Frühstück - die Dame, kein guten Morgen. Man hat sie eigentlich kaum gesehen. Der Kaffee war eine Frechheit. Keine frische Brötchen, die waren auf gebacken. Für 12,50€ pro Person erwarte ich etwas mehr vom Frühstück! An der Rezeption war in der früh niemand zu sehen.

Sehr in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel. Beim Frühstück gibt es keinen Filterkaffee sondern nur einen Kaffeeautomat und was da raus kommt hat mit Kaffee nichts zu tun Im Zimmer habe ich, gerade bei den Temperaturen im Moment, einen kleinen Kühlschrank vermisst.
