Kevin, the property owner was very friendly and helpful. I was stuck on the island unexpectedly due to bush fires on the mainland and Kevin assisted me throughout. Apartment itself had everything needed for both short and long stay. Beautiful location allowed for an amazing sunrise view as advertised.

Home away from home

Wonderful 2 bedroom property. We enjoyed breakfast on the outdoor patio with water view and listening to and watching the Gahla Cockateels . Near views of wild kangaroos at dusk on the open land just off the main highway prior to American River turn-off.

Kevin the host is very friendly, greeted us on the night we checked in, pointed out the Koala bear in a nearby tree, then said goodbye the morning before we checked out. The house is well equipped with all kinds of kitchen spices, even an expresso machine! The cozy living room with books, the private deck at sunrise with birds singing and flying all around… all makes it a lovely vacation getaway in a luxury country house setting.

As the name implies, the morning sun rising over the expansive lake system of American River is spectacular. The location is ideal for exploring the eastern and middle sections of Kangaroo Island. The accommodation is expansive, comfortable and has everything you will need for an extended stay.

Our hosts were there for us, start to finish! Great local knowledge but unobtrusive. The accommodation is first rate and fully kitted out. Nothing in the kitchen is missing for whatever your self-catering needs. And with views of the bay throughout the day to make you get out the camera or just sit on the wraparound balcony and look.

Very friendly owner. Hard not to fall in love with KI. And the location of this place was perfect for our travels around on the island. Very spacious apartment.
