Nice hotel and great staff. Hotel is located by the highway and an industrial park - 35 minute walk to Centrum Amersfoort. Lots of fast food joints within walking distance. Great breakfast. Room was nicely laid out and the beds were comfortable. Down side; we stayed for 6 days and did ask for a cleaning after the 3rd. Mediocre job on the cleaning. That was not a show stopper but the air quality in the room left me waking up during the night and waking up every morning with a dry throat and stuffy sinuses. Management had the windows locked and would not let us open them to get fresh air. For that reason we would not stay there again.
Great hotel for an extended stay in the Netherlands, especially if you'd like to experience things outside of Amsterdam. The hotel is very conveniently located - it's within walking distance of quick food options, the train station, and grocery store options. I stayed for 8 nights and had great interactions with staff, and would overall recommend it to others for future stays, especially at the current price point! A few things that kept it from being a perfect score:
- Unfortunately, the safe did not work in the room. Staff were very helpful in trying to reset it, but unfortunately it was just a dud. Given the newness of the hotel, I was surprised by this.
- Conditioner is not supplied, only shampoo. This isn't an issue for everyone, but as someone with longer hair, it's a must!
- The air conditioning is prone to resetting itself after a few hours, which is frustrating after a long day being out and about. A few times we came back to the room being quite warm, and the circulation isn't ideal so it would take a while to finally cool down.
- There's a lot of security theatre at the hotel - buzzing in for driving in or walking up is required, as is the card for both the elevator and the door to your floor itself. Not really a downside per-se, but it was a bit annoying after a while, so it's good to be aware of it beforehand!
Again, overall I had a wonderful stay and would still recommend. I will likely stay here again!
Best hotel to stay if you are driving to Amsterdam or surrounding areas. Loved the environment and buzz of the hotel.
McDonalds, KFC and Starbucks on a 2 minute walk and Petrol Pump for you to fill before you start your journey.
Didn't use the breakfast option but hotel had that available with beautiful settings.
I would rate 10/10 to this hotel and you will agree with me once you see the room and bathroom, amazing.
Parking is available and security access to room and each floor with your room key.
Hotel located in an industrial area very close to motorway. No surroundings to enjoy. Bus to city 5 minures walk away. Hotel parking fenced off, which was good! Great room, OK food possible. Very expensive breakfast not included in hotel price...
First impressions weren’t good, stood at check in waiting for about 5 minutes while the 2 members of staff served 1 group of 3 in the bar with drinks. Staff did not acknowledge us and when they did check us in there was no apologies for the delay. Went in the lift and there were condoms on the notice about breakfast making us wonder what sort of hotel we had gone to. Room was big with a lovely bathroom but bed was too soft to sit on comfortably, although not too bad for sleeping. We were at the end of a corridor furthest away from the lift and you could hear everyone in the corridor as the sound was amplified so it was a disturbed night sleep with people going back to their rooms chatting and doors banging closed. Although we couldn’t hear noise from outside the hotel. Lighting was not very good for reading after dark and the curtains did not filter out much light. Room description states there is a kettle along with an espresso machine but no kettle provided.
This is a very new hotel. The staff, food, cleanliness was excellent. We were there for a swim meet at Amerena and it is the closest hotel. We also rented a car though Expedia and it was only €26/day. (The taxi ride to get the car was more expensive than the daily rate) We were at the Bastion Hotel for a week and the ONLY issue I had was that we were too close to the elevator. We were in room 422 the second from the elevator. You need your keycard to get in the elevator at floor zero, and when you get off you need it again to get into your floor. The opening and especially closing of that door was very loud especially noticeable in the morning when people are leaving between 5-6am. We had another room (325) and they were far enough away that they could not hear it. Besides that, we will definitely be staying here again next year for the swim meet.

Poor services
I’m staying at this hotel often in the last two years, but hotel services and comfort levels are dropping continuously.
- room very noisy from pipes or ceiling fan who never stopped during the night. Telling this issue to the receptionist looks like she was aware, other customers complained in the last month!!!
- no shampoo or towels left in the room after cleaning, need to ask reception…
- restaurant service terrible, waiting time for food, even if restaurant is half empty is very long and unprofessional service
Struttura pulita e moderna, Personale molto cordiale
