We didn’t realize that this property is a bed & breakfast and not a hotel. This wasn’t an issue, but it was a surprise upon arrival. Nowhere on Expedia does it say that this property is a bed & breakfast. Our room was fine and the other amenities were as expected. The stairs are a little precarious, but the building dates back to the 16th century, so it is part of the charm of the hotel.
Central to everything
Stairs steep and winding to bedrooms
Bedrooms very comfortable and clean and spacious
Very friendly and informative owners

This is a historical building with the great staff and lovely people. Stairs are a little hard to climb if you have luggages. The hotel rooms are in the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. The owners are very nice people with a great breakfast and they give you loca guides.

Everything about this quaint hotel is wonderful. The location is phenomenal- 15 minute walk to almost everything. Local transit is minutes away & the area is filled with great restaurants & lovely cafes & bars. The owners were wonderful. They were very helpful with touring ideas and made sure that our time in Amsterdam was enjoyable. Breakfast every morning was fresh & plentiful- fabulous omelettes! This was truly a highlight of our vacation. The room was large, clean & airy & the bathroom was large & spotless. Pack light, there is no elevator, but we managed fine on the 3rd floor & I’m in my mid-50’s. Enjoy!!
Property owners treated us very warmly. Each day started with a tasty breakfast, and Hanneke provided wealth of info to navigate Amsterdam. Wife fell in love with their April flowering garden
Location excellent. Right on Kaiser Canal. Very small and personal. Mary, Ernest, and Annika, the host family were kind, helpful, prepared great breakfasts. We got help getting our suitcases up to the fourth floor--thank goodness.
Ideally located for city centre and specifically for the paradiso club. Not the cheapest but real VFM. Ernst is a great chap and good host and breakfast chef. Will definitely be back soon. Cheers

It was lovely had an amazing time here the breakfast was lunch very clean and comfortable
Perfect location, in the center of the city, close to the museums and the main interesting places of Amsterdam. The hotel is extremely restful, calm and charming. Pesonal of the hotel is very welcoming.
Excellent breakfast with fesh food.
If we come back to Amsterdam, we would ceertainly stay in this hotel again.
This incredible 17th-century canal-side mansion is located on one of Amsterdam's most prestigious streets, Keizersgracht, just a few blocks from the Rijksmuseum. More a B&B than a hotel, the deVries family offers a warm welcome to their guests offering tips and insights into their native city, Amsterdam. They can set you up with local friends offering customized tours of the city, depending on your interests. The delicious breakfast in the home's traditional dining room is a perfect way to start off your day.
The great location is just a couple blocks from a tram station. Since the house was built in the 1600's it does have the traditional narrow, winding staircase that may be a consideration for those with physical limitations. With a great location, friendly hosts and a historic property offering great value- this gem is a real find.
This is definitely more Bed and Breakfast than a hotel as rooms are on 3rd and 4th floor of a private home. You get your room key and entrance key to the house. There is no lobby but a living room with kitchen and dining area occupied by owners but this is where you will have breakfast in the morning. Owners are very nice and welcoming, breakfast was very good. Our room was quite large, beds are comfortable and bed sheets were excellent quality (rooms looked exactly like the one on picture). There is no elevator but a narrow spiral staircase which could be difficult to claim with luggage or if you have any kind of disability. We did get help to bring our suitcase up from the owner though. Overall very good and in a way unique stay,
