"My grandfather used to have a house with Shimla so I am very familiar with the place for the last 50+ years. Willow Banks is absolutely the best value for money you can find in the city. Very clean, very well located right next to the iconic mall road, right next to the tourist lift and very good service and clean and large rooms. Also excellent food options either within the hotel or right next door. Perfect place to stay and enjoy Shimla."

"I guess you get what you pay for - so if you are only interested in a low price and not what the stay is like - ignore the rest of this. But here is a sampling of the issues. A very very steep drive in with shear drop offs (you have have an experienced driver). The website claims there are mountain views - I could not see that any room had that - I was in the largest building and top floor and there was another building standing in the way plus tall trees that obscured any view of the mountains. The staff wants to be helpful and are well intentioned but they are poorly trained. As an example - cleaning - there were empty coke and beer bottles on the balcony from the previous guests as well as cigarette ashes & candy wrappers. I asked to have this cleaned up but the staff cleaner only took away the bottles - the ashes and wrappers remained. There were cob webs in the bathroom. The facility is in shambles and needs a complete renovation (wires hanging off fan connected by cheap tape; peeling paint on doors and elsewhere, peeling fake wood laminate floors, doors that don't close properly etc). The room I had had a small padlock on the main door that first of all was very difficult to get through the latch because the latch was not in line - I had to kick the latch to get it on enough to put on the padlock. A well aimed hit with a small hammer would allow entry. Coming in, you are greeted with a massive ugly cement unfinished structure which is abandoned."

"We booked the Manor Luxury apartments for our first road trip in India. After hours of driving on scenic, broad, then narrow and winding roads, we arrived at the apartment in time for the most beautiful sunset over the mountains😍😍 Check in: 💯super easy and the staff ensured we were set up in the apartment before coming over to collect our check in documents. I really liked this coz I had a chance to settle the kids, take in the sunset, then do paperwork. Apartment: 💯clean, well maintained, well furnished and complimentary coffee, lemonade and fruits. The views are to die for! Meals: 💯 delicious and the restaurant was lovely with lots of fairy lights in the garden... it was abit cold for my team so we dined in the apartment the other nights. Convenient ordering in whatsapp and meal preferences were considered. Meals were tasty too! The chocolate brownie with Ice cream is sinfully sweet! Heated pool! 💯perfectly heated for the cold weather... one must book a slot and charges are 500rupees per hour for adults. Kids swam for free as long as an adult was there. Looved it! Private and fun!The club house where the pool is located had a few more activities, gym, pool, table tennis. We did not try any of them due to time constraints. Nature hike: We loved hiking up the hills and walking through the pine trees... we did 4km which was well handled by our kids ages 5 and 7. We loved our stay and highly recommend Manor Luxury apartments! "
