"I would strongly caution anyone considering staying at this hotel. During my stay, I discovered bed bugs in my room—something no guest should ever have to deal with. I will be including photos of the bites for reference.
Because of the severity of the situation, I had to leave immediately and was forced to abandon all of my belongings to avoid bringing the infestation home. The total value of what I lost was over $900. The hotel did refund my stay, but they did not offer any help with cleaning, recovering, or replacing my personal items.
On top of that, I had to spend around $350 out of pocket on basic necessities like clothing, toiletries, and a new place to stay. The situation didn’t end there—I later experienced worsening symptoms and even had to spend time in the ER as a result.
Overall, this was not just an inconvenience—it turned into a stressful, expensive, and physically uncomfortable experience. I understand that issues can happen anywhere, but the lack of support and accountability afterward made this much worse.
Please be aware and take this into consideration when booking."
"No management/staff are at the Settle Inn, so you have to walk to the Super 8 for that. Sheets were dirty; Super 8 supplied new sheets. No shampoo, conditioner, or soap in room. Half the light bulbs were burned out. WiFi wasn’t working, and the Super 8 staff wasn’t able to fix it (required management who wasn’t there). So that means TV didn’t work, either. I work remote, so I had to sit in the Super 8 lobby to complete my work using their public WiFi, since the WiFi didnt stretch far enough to work at the Settle Inn.
Just do yourselves a favor and spend the extra 10-20 dollars to stay at the Super 8 across the parking lot. "
"This property was terrible. Very basic and outdated room. At around midnight our smoke detector started "chirping" my husband went to the desk and the guy changed the battery and an hour later it started "chirping" again so the guy moved us to the room across the hall which did not have the extra pull out couch so my husband slept on the floor while my kids slept in the beds. but we could still hear the intermittant chirping though it was not nearly as loud. In the morning we were told it was likely the wiring and that if we wanted a refund we would have to go through hotels.com. The laundry facility was also very disgusting and the dryer did not dry our clothes. Needless to say this is the last time I reserve through hotels.com.Next time I call the hotel direct. "
"Clean welcoming environment at check in, friendly staff and well appointed, comfortable room in a great downtown location. The bar in a former bank vault is definitely worth a visit too."
