The hotel is centrally located - Nice room and parking available
The check in was a little awkward as the key code provided was incorrect and had to call a mobile (answered promptly) to change
A lovely hotel, slap bang in the middle of town, close to all pubs and restaurants and the Centenary theatre (20 minute walk) could do with a little touch up and repairs here and there. But excellent value for where it’s positioned and the staff are exceedingly welcoming and friendly. Lovely stay would book again definitely!
Does the job. Pricey for what it is, but few other options so well located

We’ve stayed here before and always been happy. The rooms are well equipped, well priced and centrally located.
However, they have now switched to an online check in where you receive your room number and an access code prior to arrival. We arrived after a long day to find the access code didn’t work so we couldn’t get int our room. There were no staff on site.
There is a phone number to call in case of any issues…..we rang that, were told someone would be with us within a few minutes. 10 minutes later, we were still waiting and the phone number just went to answerphone.
We finally accessed our room with another code sent via email.
However, on returning to the hotel after a meal out, neither the new access code or the original one didn’t work so we were left standing outside in the courtyard at 10.30pm
Not great.
This new system doesn’t work and I wouldn’t recommend staying here until they sort out the issues surrounding it.

The staff are great . The property is out dated and could do with a refresh plus provision of at least breakfast !
There are no staff available to check anything. The stair carpet to Room 27 was badly stained. Room 27 was clean, but the toilet seat was hanging on by a thread on one side only. The soap tray in the shower had come down and was impeding the On/Off lever. The drain in the shower is partially blocked and any shower over 2 minutes will flood the bathroom. The On/Off lever fell off in my hand and I had to scramble to find it in the water and reattach it. The bed was extremely firm and required a topper. The pillows were very flabby and offered no neck support. We had to use a bath towel and cushion to sleep on. No one in Reception at 10:15, although advertised as someone being available until 11, to make these complaints. "Express Check Out" link did not work, so unable to check out.
The check in code for the outer door and room door worked well.
Breakfast is a 5-10 minute walk away, which would not be much fun if it was raining.
We experienced one of the worst night's sleep and would not stay again.
Lovely place in centre of town. Room good size with all amenities. Quiet and warm when i was there. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by. Free car parking too
This hotel was in the perfect location while visiting my family in Berkhamsted. Right off the high street, large room, lots of storage space, water, tea and coffee, early check in, luggage storage. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Lovely receptionist. Quickly checked in. Everything is within walking distance, especially the M&S food hall. Comfy bed, and overall clean. Some things are a bit dated, but nothing to worry about. I would stay here again.
The place is not easy to find and I had to call to find out exactly how to reach the car park:the member of staff was extremely helpful
I arrived before check-in time and asked for the toilets only to be told there were none available in the reception area at all, only in the bedrooms to which I did not have access. I was directed to Costa next door.
The room was clean and functional and worth the £70 charge
