Small town, roughly 20 minutes drive from Prague with an amazing family brewery Berounsky Medved.

Modern brewing history goes back to 1871 in the town of Beroun but ended in 1978. Over 20 years later, the Mayer family renewed the tradition by opening a brewery for the true beer lover. This isn't a fancy joint, it's a place for those who love good beer, good friends and good times. The brewery’s location might take most by surprise, as it is to be found in an abandoned industrial estate. Although the area has a slightly dubious feel to it, the brewery itself is bright, cheerful and family friendly. There is also a collection of old tanks outside, because why not?

Twice a year is a larger potter and craft fair in the town of Beroun where you'll find the beer for sale on the square.

Getting there:

The town of Beroun is a pleasant train ride through a river basin with stunning landscapes and a castle or two.

Trains depart from both Prague's main station and Prague Smichov station (reachable by the yellow metro line). The commuter trains (Os) take around 50 minutes while the fast train (R) is around 35 min. If you would like to stop at the famous Karlstejn castle on the way there or back, take the commuter train because the fast trains don't stop there. The Karlstejn stop is easy to tell because that's where everybody with a camera gets off. From there, Beron two more stops.

Once at the train station, walk out the front door and turn left and follow the signs to the brewery. There are a few twists and turns, but walk into the courtyard of the industrial area and you are there!

"Väldigt fin lägenhet!! Rent, snyggt och städat. Kändes väldigt nyrenoverat. Trevlig balkong in mot gården. I lägenheten finns allt för att laga enklare måltider o frukost. "Had a lovely visit at this property. My friend and I shared a flat (apartment) of three bedrooms. The laundry machine, dishwasher, and ice-making fridge made for a very easy stay. The building is built atop a very lovely restaurant and there are countless others as well as one really fun concept bar in the immediate neighbourhood. The building is on somewhat of an embassy row and down the way from Prague Castle (now a government building) so it’s super safe. It can get very noisy with cars...

"Excellent place and great experience! The place had everything, the location is great and the communication was quick and prompt. "I have stayed at the Hilton Prague Atrium several times in the past and have generally had good experiences, which is why I continue to choose this property. Unfortunately, my most recent stay was disappointing. The check-in process took over an hour, even though it was not during the typical peak check-in time of around 3:00 PM. The room initially assigned to me also had a strong cigarette smoke odor, resembling an ashtray from excessive smoking. This issue was addressed promptly and I was given another room, which I appreciated. Later that evening around 11:00 PM, I attempted to contact the front desk multiple times to request a dental kit, but no one answered the phone. I was eventually able to reach the desk in the morning, though the request was not resolved. I shared this feedback during check-out. The staff were polite, but the response focused mostly on explanations rather than acknowledging the concerns raised. Given my positive past stays, I hope this feedback can be used to improve the guest experience going forward."

"Breakfast was excellent. The gym was basic and items broken which was disappointing. Location good near the metro. Room was nice but had 2 twin beds instead of a double which again wasn’t ideal. Lifts were broken a lot during the stay but not their fault I suppose. English spoken very well. It’s a nice hotel. "

"From the time my son and I arrived the service was top notch. Front desk check in with Suzanza, Andrew and others was all done wit a smile, in a timely manner and very professional. The room staff was also amazing!! Room was always spotless and the best TP I have ever had in all my worldly travels lol Everything was awesome!! Entire stay was Tens across the board. Will be back in December :) "
