A good place to base yourself if you are planning to look around Cornwall. The Hotel is excellent all round. The "cell" was very clean, spacious and well appointed and the breakfasts were great. The staff were very helpful and do all that they can to make your stay as good as it can be. Wouldn't hesitate in returning or recommending to friends.

A very different hotel experience which we really enjoyed. Very quiet rooms, excellent food and an impressive wine list. Nearby we went on a Bodmin walk to see the stone circles. Also Rock, st ives and St Michael’s mount.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great especially the service which was perfect. Food was fresh and the choice excellent - everything you could want in pastries, fruit, breads and the cooked to order hot options.

A brilliantly quirky hotel that has been sympathetically restored to a high standard. A great to place to spend a day or two. Staff are very friendly and helpful - good choice at breakfast - we had an evening meal in the restaurant that we felt was over priced for the quality. It was a novel experience to stay in a converted jail. The breakfast was great and the service was overall very good. As a practical stay with two young kids I found the rooms to be on the small side (perhaps expected for a converted jail) and not so comfortable as a place to just unwind after a day of sightseeing. I would perhaps recommend it for a one night stay, just to try it out, but not for longer.

This is a beautiful hotel. The room was stunning and super luxurious. The staff were super friendly and helpful and gave us a tour of the jails in the dungeons too. Breakfast was refreshing with none of that help yourself dried scrambled egg but freshly made beautiful food.

Fabulous hotel, looks brand new. Cells, sorry rooms were excellent, bathroom was superb with the stand alone bath was the highlight for my wife, bubbles provided also. Bar & food in restaurant were superb. Staff very helpful and always there to help. Boom this hotel and you won’t be disappointed.

Two night stay and really can’t wait to stay again. The room couldn’t be faulted for beautiful facilities. I would have liked the bottled water to be replenished for the 2nd day. Nice complimentary fizzy pop in the mini bar. The food quality is exceptional. We ate in The Chapel the first night and couldn’t fault it. All staff are exceptional, professional and very friendly. The 2nd night we ate in the bar and again couldn’t fault the food. Takes a little getting used to how to get around especially when the bar is closed as tou have to wander through the breakfast room to get to the cafe to buy water. The only issue I had was the smell of stale sweat and BO wafting through from the gym was really off putting. It made the staiwell stink.

Fabulous stay at the Bodmin jail hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the overall stay was excellent. Our buffet breakfast was 10/10. We ate in one of the local restaurants for dinner to save some money and was only a short walk to the town

Such a great hotel, I can't say enough good things about it. The room (wow!) was awesome, fantastic and I had the most restful and amazing sleep during my stay. Lovely hotel. Staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very luxurious. The evening meal was okay but my husband’s dish tasted quite bland, considering the prices - we expected slightly better quality. We really enjoyed the history and novelty of the hotel. The free mini bar was a nice touch.
