Beautiful hotel

Absolutely beautiful hotel in the old jail, so many of the original features with a modern feel. Breakfast was incredible, best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had and the continental selection was amazing.

Absolutely loved this hotel! It was such a pleasant surprise, despite already having high expectations. We were in a dog friendly room on the ground floor and it was incredible. The history of the building is evident and we really enjoyed exploring the exterior and the areas near the restaurant. The staff were all very very helpful and pleasant. I honestly could haven’t asked for a better stay. Thank you!

Amazing hotel, quality of the room was exceptional, we ate in the Chapel restaurant and found the food to be lovely. Would definitely recommend this gem of a hotel. Sadly we saw no ghosts.

Room was compact but had everything we needed for a 1 night stay. The bed was 2 singles zipped together but as there wasn't a mattress topper over the two singles, there was a dip in the middle of the bed. The bathroom was excellent. The bar was disappointing - cold and uncomfortable with limited seating options. Staff did not welcome us or acknowledge us as we stood at the bar for 15 mins waiting to order (the only the couple waiting walked out). Once we were finally asked what we wanted to drink, it took a further 35 mins to receive it. Breakfast was superb. Staff were efficient, attentive and friendly. The selection was extensive and quality of food excellent.

Luxury Behind Bars

The Bodmin Jail Hotel is a unique mix of old prison history and modern comfort. The staff were friendly and made our stay feel special. It’s a great place to experience something different and memorable.
