"Very friendly service, very clean, renovated interior. Breakfast was fantastic: two kinds of sausages (turkey and pork), scrambled eggs, an omelet, freshly made pancakes, yogurt, oatmeal, bread, and much more. The pool had very warm water, a 24/7 gym, and the window blinds were so good and kept out the light that when I woke up in the morning, I was surprised it couldn't be that dark at 7 a.m. When I opened the blinds, I was shocked that they would allow someone who doesn't like to relax in a bright room to rest so well. Wonderful. I would definitely come back."
TownePlace Suites by Marriott Brantford and Conference Centre
10/10 Excellent
"The front desk staff were so polite. The little snack bag was a nice touch😊
The room was beautiful….I wish that I was staying for more than one night.
Overall, great experience!"
"I found the room and perhaps the entire facility had a strange odor. It was a dirty smell but it was unpleasant for me and I think it triggered my allergies. I was disappointed it did not offer breakfast. You could get breakfast at the attached restaurant and you got a 10% discount yet it was a higher end restaurant with a pricey menu. Not much room selection. Rooms with 2 beds were only double beds. Only stayed 1 night so it was just a place to lay my head."
Homewood Suites by Hilton Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
10/10 Excellent
"Nicest room that I have stayed in for quite a long time. The bed was incredible comfortable, and there were far more amenities than I expected. The staff (Gabriel at the front desk in particular) was very helpful and the location was convenient.
The only minor downsides that I will share for full transparency: downtown Hamilton is sometimes a bit sketchy, and there were quite a few homeless people sleeping or walking within the vicinity of the hotel. Many seemed not well but absolutely none were threatening or disruptive.
The other much more trivial downside is that the view from my room was a multi-level parking lot just metres from my window, so privacy felt a bit limited unless the black-out curtains were shut."
"My room was disgusting. The shower curtain had huge black stains on it. There was hair on the floor and a mysterious brown substance on the bathroom ceiling. The TV had something sprayed (possibly a pop that exploded) on the screen and general grunge on the stand/legs. The microwave was dirty inside ad out and clearly had not even been wiped in some time judging by the greasy hand prints on the front. The chair appeared to have been "previously enjoyed", with stains on it and food shoved under the seat cushion.
I was afraid to eat anything at the buffet that wasn't pre-packaged after seeing how filthy my room was. I sat down at 9:50am to eat a quick yogurt cup, but a staff member came in and told me the breakfast room was closing...so I left.
If you're going to charge big boy hotel room prices, you'd better live up to those standards. I won't be back...which the staff there are probably happy about given this honest review."
