The room was excellent, very clean abd spacious. The pub is very traditional and had a great atmosphere. Food was also good. Would definitely visit again.

Good country pub

Great very dog friendly hotel. With good parking and excellent food. Close to a number of interesting walks in the amazing countryside close by. Good breakfast too! Helios.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice bar, really good quality food. The rooms were huge, spotless, modern, comfortable, great bathrooms. Perfect.

It was a good stop over place for us, spacious, clean and quiet rooms, with a great pub to boot. Pet friendly, and while we didn’t have the dog, as we were just passing through, there are great walking places in the area. Good food and friendly service… exactly what we were looking for! Thanks to the Ancient Mariner for keeping the good old local pub tradition, welcoming us, and of course well fed and sheltered for the night.

The staff and regulars were super friendly. A good welcome given. My only problem was wifi being intermittent in the room of my accommodation. I would definately stay again and recommend it

Owners very pleasant but only took over the business on the day we arrived therefore things were a bit tops turvy. Having said this they tried their best to make everyone comfortable.

Breakfast was not as good as expected. My breakfast was served with a dried up fried egg with bits of egg shell. That said overall a pleasant stay good value for money.

Disappointing

I found the room very nice. However it was not particularly clean. The shiwer head leaked badly and i had to refit the toilet seat. Breakfast was disappointing. The tables were sticky from the evening before and the eating experience was very disappointing. There is absolutely no way that i would stay in this place again.

All great big clean room nice bathroom all tiled great breakfast nice staff BUT just so cold in the room only had under floor heating got the room to 16c had to watch tv in bed to keep warm could not get the towel in the bathroom to work. It had a button like the ones you turn lights on and then they go off slowly as it had a tiled floor again just so cold when having a shower you need your socks on to walk in just to use the loo but I would go back but only in the summer
