We stayed here to see the Christmas light show in Brookings and were surprised to see the high rating of this motel with rooms going for less than $100 a night. The property is in need of updating but the staff was professional and our room was clean. We would stay here again.

We had to check in at three different times due to down internet and was asked to keep coming back. The frigerator set at lowest setting froze all our food we put in it and our Pepsi can burst and made a mess we cleaned up as best we could. One of the lights on the wall to the right of bed if you used the switch the bulb holder attached to lamp disengaged and flopped to the side. There was hair in the tub and the carpet had sand on it when we arrived and our socks kind of stuck to the carpet. We didn't complain because we didn't have the time since we were coming and going. The staff was great though but the room we had was just not great.

Property needs some updating. The bedding had been updated, but the mattresses are a little older. The paint trim in the room was not completely painted and the vinyl plank flooring in the room was buckling in several places, needs some maintenance. The hot water was super hot, great to warm up after a day fishing in the cold. Water pressure in the shower was awesome. The bathroom was clean.

The exterior lighting shine thru the curtains. It rained the entire week of our visit, at one point there was a leaked at the front door that was quit loud. The staff has always been very nice and accommodating. We elected for no room service and exchanged towels each day, the towel are of a nice quality and very soft. This hotel is my favorite when visiting Brookings.

Great Place to Stay

We arrived and check in was a breeze. The very friendly lady at the office gave me the rundown and pointed me towards our room. We got the perfect room on the lower floor in the corner. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. The hotel is right off the main road and close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay!
