โI surprised my husband with this "glamping" experience on a Colorado roadtrip getaway. I highly recommend staying in the Velma -- an Airstream. It was very fun. The staff is SO NICE and everything was very clean and well-maintained. The towels were plush and the grounds had a fire pit, cornhole and a nice big hot tub. โThe owner stayed after hours until I could get there because my trip was delayed. Superior service, the rooms are really well appointed with top-notch fixtures and amenities, especiallyfor a motor lodge of this vintage.
Plus, they have a sauna and hot tub and other things that you just wouldnโt expect, including a great breakfast
And all in this beautiful setting in the Colorado mountains.
I wish every place I stayed came close to being as good as this place.

โOur stay was great from the time we got there till we checked out. Breakfast was nice lots of choices, rooms were clean. We walked to downtown/river walk area every day. Even walked home at night with no worries. Highly recommend this hotel. We will always stay there on our visits to the area.โ
โWe visit Salida around 10 times a year for quick getaways and this is our go to motel. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable and the hot tub is a dream after skiing or after a day on the river. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. We love that we are also a very short stroll from our favorite Mexican restaurant in Salida, Casa Calaca.โ
