"The hotel was in a location that was walkable to the main tourist area of Coimbra. The hotel was lovely and had fabulous gardens to walk through as well as a lovely
spa, indoor pool and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool was suitable for lap swimming and it was a treat to exercise. The restaurants had nice options for dining. The history of Pedro and Ines was an added bonus. "

"The hotel is right on the river. With both beautiful room decks and a large deck for meals and peaceful sitting time. There is an outdoor pool as well as a
spa that was enjoyable. Clean and comfortable (ask for robes if you don't see them in your room).

Palace Turned Hotel
"Quinta das Lágrimas has such an important and interesting place in Portuguese history, which we enjoyed learning about during our stay. The old house and surrounding gardens are beautiful and romantic, even in the winter. Our room was in the spa wing, and it was large and comfortable, but the “Queen” bed was actually two twins pushed together (which is common in Europe), the shower flooded easily, and the bathroom door was extremely difficult to lock and unlock. As Canadians, we were also surprised to learn that we were not allowed to use the indoor pool without a swimming cap."
