"There is nothing fancy about The Abbott - it provides accommodation. But it does that very well. The experience seems formulated on the expectation that guests will source all their meals externally, which is reasonable given the close proximity to a multitude of eating places. Also easy walk to the piers. Inside, the room was quiet and comfortable. Great shower, good array of complimentary toiletries. We enjoyed a Superior room with street frontage (room 201); would recommend trying to obtain this or similar if considering The Abbott."

"The property was very clean. Very close to the Reef Fleet Terminal for boat trips. There are many restaurants in the area. You can go walking. Friendly staff. We arrived early at the hotel, and they stored our luggage in the lobby so we could go out and explore the area before our actual check-in time."

Plus as a woman in the gym on her own it would be good to either have the walking machines face the door - or have mirrored glass on the wall opposite the door so I can see what is happening behind me and who has come in. "This hotel was just what I needed after traveling abroad and staying in hostels. A private room to myself with a big bed, tv and nice shower. I was able to check in early which is lovely. It was stupid that they make you pay to store your luggage, because I just sat in the lobby with it to avoid that and cluttered up their front space. Close to restaurants and grocery store. "
