From our first minute until the last minute, we had a great experience at Mood Matuna hotel. The room we had was sensational (we booked the room with the private pool, which was absolutely worth it). The staff were super helpful and accommodating. The included breakfast was very good and filling, including a buffet of fruit, granola, bread, coffee, and juices. The location is really good, a very short walk away (5 minutes) from most places we wanted to go to. It was last stop of our trip to Colombia, and it was our favourite hotel. Highly recommended.

We couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. All the staff was courteous and was always more than willing to help us with any request we may have. Rooms were great, food was unbelievable. Everything about this place is amazing! Special shoutout to Maria for making feel immediately welcomed to Colombia and being able to make my stay there amazing, Sebastian for also making sure I felt welcomed and enjoyed my stay, Alexander for being extremely helpful to me and kind, and Jin for being awesome every time we interacted. The gym was awesome and I was able to get in some quality workouts, and the room was extremely clean and spacious, and the location is central to basically everything in Cartagena. This place gets 5 stars from me and I will definitely be back to stay again!!! Thank you Mood Matuna!

Pros -- Fabulous breakfast with lots of varieties to choose from. Spacious room. Comfy bed. Good water pressure. Friendly staff especially Orlando who checked me in. 5- minute walk into Walled City. Cons -- Found a dead cockroach in one of the drawers. My room was facing a very busy street. Could be noisy at times.

The bedroom was huge, but the bathroom was tiny (but manageable) and it took some getting use to not putting the toilet paper in the toilet, but we understood why. The breakfast was spectacular (freshly made to order) every day and the staff were great, very helpful, friendly and approachable. Two members of staff stood out. Daniel in reception, who was always willing to help with directions and recommendations to restaurants etc. Sebastien in the breakfast area, always so pleasant and his service was excellent.

Rooms were clean and spacious, albeit the organization was a bit odd, and tonnes of unused space. Staff were kind and friendly, and quick to accommodate requests. Upon check-in, there were no towels in the room, so we had to request them. There was also only 1 roll of TP, which meant we also had to request more when it ran out. Bathroom space is tiny. Breakfast service was slow and crowded, but the food was fine. It was evident that the restaurant was understaffed and the few people running it were doing the best they could. The location itself is noisy and dirty, but it’s a short walk away from most tourist spots. It’s a decent, cheap stay for people looking for a comfortable bed and a hot shower.
